Okay, so After Hours doesn't usally do sports threads, barr the odd exception. But with only 11 days* to to one of the biggest sporting fortnights on the earth, and with what is preety much a Home Olympics for us, well its the closest it will ever come here. Prehaps its appropiate that the good folks of After Hours post all their thoughts, amusing observations, the scandel, and prehaps even the odd result here.

So here we go, you excited yet?

I prefer Thompsn but winning 5 gold medals at a physical sport is unbelievable. Dominating your sport for 20 years plus!
It better not be that drugs cheat 'dame Kelly Thompson' - how she was never caught I beyond me

Thompson won the toughest event in the most competitive sport TWICE!

And only someone who is totally clueless about athletics would say Thompson is master of none. (Referring to Redgrave's classless and clueless comments re:Thompson)

Someone is getting sacked tonight anyway.

They introduced the North Korean players on the screen with the South Korean flag beside them. The players refused to come out and play. Kick off will be at 20:50 apparently!

Its a wonder Sebastian Coe hasn't campaigned for Beckham to be given the honour. :rolleyes:

It really is sickening to read the Brit tabloid media's outrage over him being omitted from the GB team. If the fcuker wants to be involved that badly maybe they could ask him to join the understaffed street cleaning crews. Have him out at 6am every morning in a high vis jacket mopping puke off the pavements.
