I think AMD is going to do well here, if they play their cards right.

if they could be €100+ cheaper than the gtx690, maybe in the low €800 mark, then they'll dominate the market.

looking at the pics, it says Ghz edition on the fans. if they throw the Ghz 7970's into it, ie 1000Mhz, it'll be much faster than the 690, being slightly crippled 680's, who get well beaten by the 7970 Ghz edition. and having 6gb of RAM. there will be no reason to get a 690, or 680SLI. even a 670SLI comes close to €800.

also, for the first time ever, AMD has taken notice of aftermarket/card resellers cooling solutions. it might actually be decent enough having 3 large fans. being the owner of a 6990, my housemate can't sleep while I game

I have already placed order with komplett on 256gb version of Samsung. If they are increasing the prices of Samsung ssds I wonder if they will keep the low price on my one.

lads, a super random one:

i got 2 monitors and i love to have WMP on secondary monitor while i am playing games on main.

problem is some games force second screen to go off or just go blank black screen. if i play a wee bit with alt+tab i can get second monitor working properly, but it is really annoying... would there be some option to force both monitors always on?

if you can run the game windowed have a look at shiftwindow, it stretches the window and forces a borderless fullscreen windowed mode like sc2 has

doesnt always work perfectly but it works for me for a coupleo f games and dual screen problems

try using the igp of your 2500K. that's what I do and never get that problem.

you could have a dodgy setting in your power options too, so have a look through them.

and cudos on using wmp. I thought I was the last person on the planet using it. it does everything I want. I do use vlc for movies and winamp on my phone though.

i check power saver option at it is all set to " enviromental prick " settings so all cool.
WMP works fine for me, so why i change it? i got all the family guy/south park/american dad/top gear/ cleveland show going on it on shuffle. works perfect.

funny enough that annoying thing happens only on few games. for example diablo 3 woriks fine and i can use second monitor for everything, but BF3 or blacklight retribution always get that problem.

I'm unfamiliar with your spec, but if you have a z68/77 or H61/67 which has outputs for your onboard GPU through the IO shields, try plug it in there instead of on your GPU.

are you using a TV as your second monitor by any chance? I can vouch for BF3 never turning off my monitor.

aha, on board gpu lol. i will try that, because currently i got them both on my gpu. its 2 monitors btw and z68 board.

bf3 is not the worst, usually just few alt+tab and it is back to normal. black light is really bad with it though.

anyway, steam sale announced on 12th and my ssd wont be here by that time ffs

Will Software for Students email you the code for Windows? My lecturer isn't getting back to me about free windows for students so I may have to do an emergency buy this week as my build arrives! Either that or install Windows 8 preview or go down a dark road of a certain Warez site (which as a programmer I'm not too comfortable with!).

You could install windows on trial for 120 days? You might have to reinstall again to get an upgrade to work.

My internet's been down since friday night, pain in the ass because I'm itching to play some games with my friends and get back into playing EVE.

EDIT: Just thought that if I was to go ahead and sell my U2711 and buy 3 Catleaps at christmas, I'd need to get a new graphics card setup, Only two ports on my graphics card setup support resolutions higher than 1920x1200.

ughh lol eve, I've quit recently due to boredom. More interested in playing bf3 amongst other things when my new rig arrives.
