I didn't want it until that picture.

    Damn that looks good.

    .

You didn't want to want it.

I resigned myself to it as soon as it was announced.

Although i'm still not sure i'm entirely happy with it........... Masterpieces pull on your heartstrings and cloud your judgement. They're expensive, they're bad value for money, the QC is spotty, and the price keeps going for no reason other than Takara's greed.

    But you still want them.

Mutterings indicate that completing the initial line up of tapes is top priority at the moment.

Initial line up being Rumble, frenzy, Lazerbeak and Buzzsaw?

    And Ravage.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out that in the Japanese Cartoon, the blue one was Frenzy.

And in the old Marvel comics too.

I'm still awaiting Hastak's decision to paint Lazerbeak purple and call him Ratbat.
Poor old ravage will just be a black FiR-RiB haunched over on all fours :(

Also Soundwave will come with real batteries that explode and spray acid in your eyes, whilst he plays a soundfile of his laughter from the cartoon.

Here's the thing about Ratbat..... He's well known to anyone who read the Marvel comic, but Takara might decide he's a hard sell.

Sounds obtuse of them? There was a nasty rumour going around that Hasbro had to push them hard to get in on a MP Grimlock.

OK, so I got to thinking about my collection and I have no bumblebee despite being one of my favourite characters as a kid. I'd like to get something that's as close to the look of a masterpiece but which keeps his look as close to g1 robot mode as possible. I'd also like him to be as close to scale as MP-10 Prime as possible (a little over waist height).

I do like the look of the Henkei Bumblebee. Can anyone recommend anything better than that?

Your two best options based on 'REAL' Transformers are the Henkei/Classics mold, or Alternity Bumblebe.

There was meant to be a classics bumblebee reshell being released by some third party or other, they put a bettle body on the classics mold.

It looks pretty kitbashlike last i saw though...

Source is on a shorter leash these days. He told me think logically, but that it's not Shockwave.

Prowl is more likely due to repaint potential and a recent license agreement with Nissan, but i posted Perceptor just to get a bit of mileage out of people.

Thanks for posting the movie, nice to see it moving.

I really don't like how the door panels line up in vehicle mode though.

A pretty car makes an even prettier wreck.

    (Leave no Autobot uncrushed?)

Intriguing, not a big fan of the original alt mode though. Would be cool to get him and his buddie though, they'd make a nice set.

...and the Encore big guns that i referred to previously, are now *pencilled* in for next year.

And that reportedly includes the biggest gun of all.

But with the price of the most recent SixShot reissue, they probably will cost a bit.

    I have...

    MP-01 Optimus
    MP-03 Starscream (American and Japanese)
    MP-06 Skywarp
    MP-08 Grimlock
    MP-09 Rodimus
    MP-10 Optimus

Will be getting Red Alert and Sideswipe but will skip Soundwave. No interest in getting any more except *maybe* Ultra Magnus and MP-11 *if* I can pick them up cheap.

I tend to collect on a sporadic basis depending in what catches my eye.

Looking forward to the FOC like if it ever gets here.

On topic, picked up MP skywarp from Future Guy not too long ago and MP Grimlock (TRU edition) last week. V happy with both, but not too pushed to get any of the current or future figures.

I have always had a major soft spot for Sideswipe and Sunsteaker so you can imagine my delight when I saw that the former would be a MP. That Lamborghini!

Given that they seem to be a comparable size to Alternator/Binaltechs, they need to be of incredible detail/quality!

Masterpiece Sideswipe is only a bit bigger than the Classics/Universe mold.

Proof will be supplied if required.

So how much do you guys typiclly spend on these and where do ya get um ? Kapow ? Has anyone ever bought one of the Revoltech ones ? Got a Hot Rod on the way

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 1,797 Mod ✭✭✭✭ChopShop

I bought all of them at original price, but you get a bit less for your money each time.

HLJ, AmiAmi, Plamoya, BBTS. No problems with Kapow. Upside there is already.in EU.

No revoltechs, Im not fussed about them.

  • Registered Users Posts: 30,746 ✭✭✭✭Galvasean

    I have a Revoltech G1 Megatron. It's a nice figure... for a Transformer that doesn't y'know, transform.
