What would my best choice for 32gb of ram? I've got 8 dimms to play with on the X79 Sabertooth I'm soon to have and I can't really decide, is there any point going over 1600mhz? and I don't know whether to fill 32gb with 4 sticks and leave the option of upgrading later or just do the cheaper option of 8 dimms. I probably won't even fully need 32 so maybe leaving the chance of 64 is a bit silly. Still don't know which ram to choose though. The http://www1.hardwareversand.de/articledetail.jsp?aid=52774&agid=1912 that I was going for is now out of stock there AND it's bright red and would look a bit weird with the noctuas/sabertooth. Do colours actually matter?! First world problems anyways, I'm so excited

I think I'll go with the first one but I wish I could get it in a colour other than red, not that it matters but it's going to be a really weird colour scheme in this build!

What about Geil's orange sticks? Works out around the same price. Is it 4GB modules that you want? I think they do yellow ones too.

I got a 7970 off them-same thing no manufacturer mentioned, I emailed them before ordering to find out-turned out it was a Sapphire.

Pretty common on cards a few years ago, not common now. AMD most cards from the 4000 series and back, nVidia maybe 200 series and back.

Well I was busy lately with cars lads. Was looking to buy one and I finally got one!!! So all this time I was not much in to pcs. So now I am back

What did I miss so far? Ssds still droping in price? Hdds?

I will get back up on money now, because I spent quite a bit! Then I will be getting ssd 256 or 512 and one more 2312hm!

What's happened? SSDs are crazy cheap at the moment, and that's about it :pac:. Still waiting for 660ti to shake things up. AMD have announced a 7930, but that's pretty much a fail on their behalf seeming as the 7950 and 7870 are so close. Maybe it's a typo and it's supposed to be 7830

ssds dropping fast, id say average about 80-90cent a GB at this stage

hdds seem to have leveled out about the 90-100euro per TB mark and not looking like dropping much more at the mo

I heard some new breed of ssds came out? New controllers etc? 512gb still very expensive. So how much decent swung or crusial 256 delivered now?

Well the Vertex 4 has the new Everest 2 controller but these ssds are a bit dearer at the moment

256gb is the sweat spot - hard to beat this

Lads, do you recon something is wrong with my dabs order? For whatever reason, the tracking code will not work at all. Last time I ordered from dabs, the code worked immediately after dispatch although It had not been picked up by the postal system yet (it said something along the lines of "information received") It got dispatched a few hours ago however I am just a bit curious :P

I'd say less the half the tracking codes that I've had from buying stuff online have worked. I wouldn't be overly concerned. There was even ebuyer that sent me a dispatched email six months after getting it, so their systems aren't perfect. If it's dispatched, I'd say about three days with dabs.

Thanks. I made a quick call to dabs just there and apparently It has not even left their warehouse yet (even though I got the dispatch email yesterday) :rolleyes: so that explains why the tracking code is not working.

Lads is shipping from HWVS 19 euro flat even for a large order? The case, all the parts and accessories? They have a bulk items charge but it says it's only for TVs I think.

I've also seen 30 euro mentioned around here
