well i wonder how good will my PC run diablo 3

when i played diablo 2 on my system for the first time back in the day it did not even had smooth frame rate, i could not use necromancer, because to many mobs/minions would just make it a game of photos

. all mighty p1 200mhz 32 ram and 2mb gpu like a boss :cool:

Lads, can I ask a quick question? Should I build to upgrade? I'm considering putting a grand together for a nice enough gaming PC. If I do this, I'll only be putting one video card into it (gtx670 maybe?), but I'll get a mobo that supports 2, and a power supply that supports two, so that in 2 years time I can just grab an old card (from around now) and stick it in to get an extra bit of life..

Is this a decent plan? (ie would the extra bit of life be enough of an improvement) Or should I build cheap now and just start from scratch in 2 years (or whenever I feel outdated).

Lads I got my delivery from hardwareversand today:D
I am putting it together now, got the motherboard in and connecting all the cables up and then I will put the graphics card in.
Anyways I got a few questions if anyone can help :

The case fan has 3 pins, now i can see where to plug it on the mobo but is it possible to connect it direct to the psu as it got a fan controller on the case?
I checked all the connections of the psu but dont see anything.

the hd audio seems to fit the ac 97 connection perfectly yet there are 3 pins ahead of the connection but they are all over the place compared to the openings on the hd audio front panel connector?

Not sure if it is the same with mine, but I had to connect the fan controller to my psu and then the fan connects to the fan controller(corsair case)

You can plug it into one of the following (don't use two at the same time).
1) The motherboard with the 3 pin connector
2) The fan controller (probably 3 pin)
3) The PSU with a 4 pin molex connector

Most fans come with a 4 pin molex connector, but you can get adapters too.

If you connect it to the fan controller with the 3 pin connector, don't connect to the PSU as well.

I plugged it into the motherboard as a temporary measure until i got an adapter to connect it straight to the psu. However, I can adjust the low/high at the front which i didnt think would be possible so everythings good.:)

as for the hd audio I think I will post a photo about that later. Its only a minor issue

The only wire you'll get that won't be the correct fitting is the plug. They come in EU Two Pin form. But all you need is a three pin kettle lead and everyone has a few of them lying around there house.

Just got new pc setup, installed win7 and all the other drivers. Thank god i had an external dvd drive - i was banking on downloading the drivers but there was no lan driver.
I thought I was gonna have to strip down the maching too - when i plugged the basic (vga? blue) connector into the monitor from the onboard graphics it didnt detect output. The dvi from graphics card worked (didnt think it would work until gpu drivers installed).
The dell u23 ips monitor is amazing! really glad I read this forum for the tips now. There was a driver disk with it but it doesnt really do much when I put it in.... Just pops up a web browser page with a load of pdfs. Is there supposed to be an actual driver?
I only have the built in 180mm fan but there is a lot of air coming out the back even with the fan on low:)
I will post some pics in the other thread, although its a real basic pc for ye guys:pac:

For the life of me, I've no idea why Dell includes a driver disk. I guess it's on the off-chance you're running a very old computer that can't use PnP for it or something. Or you don't have access to the internet and need to read the manual? I dunno...

Its for the usb ports on monitor.
