video playback issue

Hey, i have a gs2 and I've just noticed the strangest problem. I can record video with no issues and a thumbnail will appear in the gallery but when i try and play them its just a black screen but the sound is there. And to make it weirder, videos I've downloaded and saved on the phone play no problem. I've tried using different apps but its always the same problem. Photos work fine too.
Any ideas?
