The only people I feel have a genuine cause to call into these shows are people suffering from some major injustice who haven't been listened to by others. 95% of the callers on that show just need to get a hobby and have too much time on their hands.

Yeah, good example of that was when people were going mad about The Rubberbandits on Joe Duffy and not having the capacity to watch an actual video and/or understand satire.

Pity it's so easy to drop callers, would love to hear a rant like Pat Kenny got on Frontline with Joe Duffy on the other end! Think it loses its effect if you're not seen being dragged out of a studio.

I would phone up Joe (and God forbid if I did) and ask people who go off in tangents and quite literally go into verbal assaults on to each in order to try to make their point valid, even though their point holds no relevance to certain topics.
