I had a great aunt went missing in the 70's, just disappeared one day leaving no trace behind, took nothing just gone. Some suspected she had left for England with a married man and to this day that appears to be the only conclusion. I often thought about doing it myself, just disappearing and starting a new life somewhere else where no one knows you or anything about you.
