Mocks Thread 2012 - read first post before posting

I hate school

MOD NOTE, PLEASE READ.

So it's that time of the year when the whole subject of mocks is becoming very topical, and naturally enough I'm sure people want to talk about them. So here's a thread for that, but we need to establish some rules so this runs smoothly and as it should.

Please restrict ALL discussion of mocks 2012 to this thread. Other threads may be deleted or closed.

Rules:

NO POSTING OF MOCK PAPERS: Any posts of the actual papers will be deleted and the user posting them will be banned.

USE SPOILER TAGS: If you are referring to any specific material on any Mock paper, make sure to use spoiler tags so that people who don't want to know what's on a given paper won't see. A spoiler looks like this: Spoiler: Your text here. To use spoiler tags, type [ SPOILER ] *spoiler here*[ /SPOILER ] without spaces or click the spoiler icon.

We don't encourage people to post info, and we certainly don't encourage people to read...I can't stop any of you from cheating but I can advise you to just not do it...you're not doing yourselves any favour, you're not going to know what's on the exam in June beforehand. These are to give you an idea of timing/marking/weak areas before the real thing. Aside from that, they mean nothing. There's no need to worry about them, and there's certainly no need to cheat.

However, we recognise that you are all old enough to be responsible for your own actions here, and at least this system means that if people are going to post or seek for hints, they are confined to one thread and others can avoid them.

This policy has evolved in this forum over a number of years: it may not be perfect, but we have found it to be the best compromise. This thread is NOT to be used for arguing with those who choose to post or look for hints.

All standard boards.ie rules apply here: no flaming, trolling, personal abuse or spamming. Please remember that txtspeak is NOT welcome on Boards. Using large font / multi-coloured text is also both unwelcome and unnecessary.

If you have an issue with a moderation decision, please PM the Mod in question. Do not argue about Mod decisions on thread.

A bit of clarification on what does and doesn't need to be in spoiler tags:

"English was dire, I ran out of time. My drama question was so rushed." = This is fine. You're not giving away any information about the specific content of the paper. No spoilers needed, post away!

Ok i have 2 and a half weeks to my mocks. and have only done abit of study,
My question is would i be able to study everything before the exams start and how long each day ?

a diagonal bisects te area of a parralelogram, a line through te centre of a circle perpendicular to a chord bisects the chord.

Constructions =

A triangle with sides 9cm, 10cm, 7cm, and in circle of that triangle

things to know -
Q1

just need to know areas ( which should be in your log table)

is to find the midpoint and all that stuff like with the Lines (equation of a line, prove a pint belongs to a line etc)

is theorem and constructions.

other theorem and some trigonometry

is all sin cos tan etc. (easy enough)

Q6 -

Pie charts, histograms and cumilative frequency curve(ogive)

Anyway wood was a nightmare, (it was ok if you compare it to other exams, but it was a LOT harder than usual)

Don't be freaked out or anything, it was just a lot worse than usual

for the short questions, know how to draw a thumb guage is, know the names of every powertool (there was a weird one that i dont know) know metals, and thats all I can remember

for long questions,

q1= insanely hard TG question (u must do TG to have any hope)

then another question was on sharpening a chisel
then another on designing a cabinet to hold a dvd player
then another was on acrylic plastic

cant remember the last one yet

sorry i can't be more helpful

Thank you French is:
start is like your car broke down and tick the box of where you get it fixed which is a garage and another one which i dont remember. then theres 9 comprehensions some easy some hard, the note is about you staying with some french friends is about waking up at 7o'clock and going for a cycle into town to buy some breakfast for them, say you will be back in half an hour. Next is a letter and you choose between formal and informal (I chose informal cos its easier), i cant remember it all but some of it is about easter and inviting your penpal Lucien to Ireland, say what friends he will meet and what you's will do together..

... Ahhhh The Listening is kind of fast but if you listen carfully you'll get it

The First Question is

what sign would you look for if your car broke down
Second Question: Another sign one.. What website would u look for for holiday homes in france?
Comprehension 1 was about some motorway , they asked how many people go on it and and what activities is there to do at the rest stop and what part of the motorway does some guy control?
Comprehension 2 was about books and they were looking for a book where someone has just met their boyfriend, one where they wont let the prisoners out .. one where they work as a journalist and i can't remember the third!
Comprehension 3 was about the christmas holidays and what people love about being off school (sleep in, go out with friends, presents etc.)
I can't remember the rest...
The note was that u woke up at 7 am and u left the house to go to town and to tell them you'll be back in a half an hour with breakfast!
The letter was that u tell him about school, invite him over for the easter holidays, tell him what you'll be doing when he comes, tell him about the people he will meet , ask him to write back soon.
