thecrammer wrote: » Okay, so... These are all left barcode (DEB) exam papers now... English Paper 1: Comprehension on Summerhill School, was grand. It's about the principal of a school who believes "the school should fit the children", and the questions are like "Do you think the author likes his work?" "Would you like to attend this school?" "What arguments does the author present to suggest the system of teaching in Summerhill is effective?" (There's one more, but I can't remember, also I changed the wording but yeah they're easy). The essays, all I remember is "My School Experiences", that's what I did. Functional writing was writing something about the Olympics I think, and the other was definitely "A favourite teacher of yours is retiring at the end of term. Write an article for your school newspaper explaining what he/she meant to you". Advertising was questions on an ad for an Egyptian exhibition OR writing about social media, like "do you think social media should be regulated?" Overall an easy paper! :pac: English Paper 2: Unseen drama was hard, "The Three Sisters", 2 of the questions were "What sort of life did the Prozorova family lead? Explain your answer with reference to the text" and "What is the relationship between Masha & Irina"? Seen drama questions were about "difficulties in the play you have studied, and do you like how the playwright handled these difficulties?" or "Favourite character/why and how did this character affect the others?" Unseen Poem was called "The Young Dead Soldiers" by someone called Archibald... 2 of the questions were "According to the author, what are the young dead soldiers saying?" and "Discuss your thoughts/feelings as you read this poem". Seen poetry questions were "Poem that moved you/why and what aspects of the poem helped the poet to create this effect?" - I did a war poem for that. Other question was about a poem that captures the imagination... Unseen fiction was extract from "The 39 Steps" by John Buchan. 2 of the questions were "What sort of person is the narrator, Richard Hannay?" and "Describe why this extract would make a good scene in a film". Seen Fiction was "character that faced a crisis - describe how crisis happened, how did this affect this character & also one other character?" or a question about the start of the novel (how the author set the story etc) Quite a hard paper but okay I guess...

thecrammer wrote: » Cookiemonkey wrote: » A LOT of help in geo like on short qs pleasee Well I can hardly remember the short Q's now but I'll try... Know the ocean currents, know mass movement (like which is fastest), know what scree is, locations of things in aerial photograph, be able to locate grid references, finishing the graph, know where the Pacific Ring of Fire and Mid-Atlantic Ridge are... Like it was all really easy, just like past exam short Q's, I barely studied just read over stuff the night before and it was totally grand! Lots of circling the correct option and putting the right number with the right letter... :pac: Next time you don't use spoilers, it's a ban.
