GarIT wrote: » Scan them, just like every other page. You don't want to risk carrying the history of the word or powerpoint file over to the pdf and then having your exam cancelled.

tazmanian wrote: » Your school doesn't have one A3 scanner? Ouch! Maybe export your Solidworks files to PDF using a "print to PDF" program like PrimoPDF then export the pages from your your Microsoft Word or PowerPoint file which do not include any sketches to be done (i.e. your title page, Photo-realistic page) You can export these to PDF by simply clicking "save as" and then selected "PDF" in the file format section and finally clicking save. As for the pages which have sketches.... hmm, maybe scan the individual sketched part of the sheet using an A4 scanner (unless you live in the stone age, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find a single A4 scanner, literally every printer nowadays has one), load the images onto the computer and insert them into your Microsoft Word document and then export to PDF. Once your finished making all your PDFs, paste them all together in the correct order using PrimoPDF and then export your final PDF. As for your worry over the file carrying any history with it, or to use the correct term "meta data": Meta data can easily be altered or removed entirely from any file. I'm not sure if PrimoPDF has meta data features but I did use a program a few years ago for editing PDFs called NitroPDF which could alter or remove any information stored with the file to your heart's desire.

Another thing, what happens if one was to go over the 14 page limit? Also what type of cd are we meant to use for the solidworks files and scanned portfolio :pac:

tazmanian wrote: » Not just docked badly, probably something much more serious like an "investigation" or something like that. Hey , think of it this way, the hardest part about making the Solidworks model is trying to figure out how you're going to make it, once you know how you can fly through it. So if you want to avoid any chance of losing 40% of your DCG Leaving Cert go into school and replicate the project you made at home on the school computer. Seeing as you know what features to use and the likes of that, I'd say you'll be able to get the whole lot done in 3 hours, depending on the amount of detail. EDIT: Maybe even ask your DCG teacher if you can bring your laptop in one day so that you can refer to it while making the project on the school computer if you forget any of the measurements. Seriously, it's nothing to worry about, just get really stuck in during your DCG classes between now and next week and you should get it done, perhaps even with some time to spare.

Dan_oC94 wrote: » Really man? Ok.. I don't mean to be a cheat or anything but with just one week left, would it be possible to open a solidwork part in school, copy all the features on the left, and paste them in a new empty part, and save. Will that come up on the examiners check as completed in school? thanks I really appreciate this.. don't wanna get a D2* like a guy did last year. I'm not the only one in my class who has solidworks done at home! Uh-oh ... the other idea wouldnt be so bad.. bringing my laptop to school and redrawing. Cant believe this
