My brother told me recently about his workmate who regularly steals food/ drink / newspapers from the shop near their work. He said that the guy volunteers to get everybody's lunch, and while he's there just hides his own stuff under his jacket, and has been getting away with it for ages :eek:.
Apparently, he also uses the self checkout things in Tesco when he can and always puts through one or two cheap items, and steals the rest.

And he's never been caught!

I'm a bit envious of the cheek of this guy, because im the total opposite - so paranoid that every security guard is watching my every move, even though I've never stolen anything.

Am I totally naive or do people do this regularly and think its ok??

Ah now it would be fairer to have a word with him, give him a warning rather than getting him sacked like that.

Why is that "fairer" ? And since the brother knows, it's likely that the thief has bragged and so a word would be pointless.

I don't see it changing very soon unless a lot of people snap at once. How long are we into the term of the new government and not one person had been charged with fraud or negligence? Files get sent to the DPP and disappear into a black hole... unless of course it's ordinary joe who committed some insignificant misdemeanor. To fix anything we need some kind of uprising by the people. Unfortunately all the alternatives seem to be hijacked by trotsky-ite rubbish and illiterate hippy headcases or else portrayed as such in the media while ordinary joe who isn't being represented is actually much closer to being a true capitalist, wants to be left alone to enjoy his freedom and wants to live in a fair system where the fruits of his work is rewarded instead of stolen. We probably need root and branch change to everything but if we had a new constitution I can see the present corrupt idiots censoring a working one, looking to Europe for permission and twisting any new version to suit themselves.
