I like it but I'd rather not play Coates in a game like this. I'd be a little worried about Aurelio's fitness too. I really hope we continue to take the Carling Cup seriously as I think it's a very winnable trophy for us. Personally I think we're well overdue a cup final appearance.

If that is indeed the starting XI (not confirmed) it just highlights really that we could use another striker 'poacher' in the squad. What would we be like if we were in Europe this year?, its the only area we cannot make changes when the whole def and mid is fresh apart from Henderson.

What I wouldn't give for a player like Hernandez. The type we could throw on to tap home a winner for us and play in all the cup games. The only player who remotely fits the description of poacher in the current squad is Maxi but I completely agree that we could do with a striker of that ilk.

I know he wouldn't be content with such a bit part role but one player I'd like to see us go for would be Roberto Soldado. I think he'd be attainable if a bit expensive. He's a proper finisher though.
