Sean Gallagher is not telling the full truth about his very very recent involvement in FF in my opinion

There are various sightings of him at FF meetings up until a few months ago

This appearance was from February

There are no sources which will reveal that Michael D Higgins erroneously wrote himself a cheque for over €80,000 because that sort of skullduggery runs completely contrary to his solid personal and political principles and integrity.

Like his slogan says, he has done us proud and will do us proud as our President.

Yes Newballs thank you for pointing that out. I had actually meant to refer to both Martin McGuinness and Michael D Higgins in reference to their state pensions. I personally think they have both deservedly earned their pensions from the trojan work they have both done in their respective work to advance the welfare of the country. In the case of Martin McGuinness he played a key part in brokering peace in Northern Ireland; in the case of Michael D Higgins he did sterling work in the duties he carried out in the different public offices he held. For example while Minister for the Arts, Culture and the Gaeltacht as a direct result of the work he did and initiatives he started it paved the way for thousands of jobs in the film industry and launched Ireland onto the international arena from where it has been thriving ever since.

Both Michael D Higgins and Martin McGuinness have devoted their lives' work striving towards a better Ireland.

Is it possible that he could gain from this? People dont like ambushes by the media or indeed SF if they see them as unfair. I thought that Liveline usually had a SF input moreso than others.

They are not looking to screw themselves.

You need to understand the mentality of your average FFer. They see the political system and political representatives as allies to help them pull strokes, from getting council work done, to getting awarded contracts in business to getting their kids into schools, rezoning land, getting planning, being awarded all sorts of grants and benefits and so much more.

As far as they are concerned, the more currupt their FF representative is the better. The more corrupt he is, the more likely he is to directly benefit them through the system and a simple backhander.

These people are absolute vermin.

Just listening to the Pat Kenny show, he got a loan from Louth council of 20,000 and had to be forced to pay it back, the rat:mad:.

I wish to clarify and set the record straight in relation to the dealings I had with Sean Gallagher which resulted in my attendance at a Fianna Fail fundraiser in the Crown Plaza Hotel, Dundalk, on the 1st July 2008.
Sean Gallagher , who I had never met previous to this, contacted me by phone. He first phoned me on the 6th June 2008 and invited me to attend the above fundraiser. In the course of the call he requested a donation of €5,000.00 for Fianna Fail. He advised me that this type of fundraising would replace the annual Galway Tent Fundraiser. In return for the €5,000.00 donation I was promised a private audience with the Taoiseach and I would get a photograph taken with him.
He told me that the Taoiseach would give an up-date on the economy in the South which in his words was 'beginning to wobble'
On the 9th June he again phoned me to confirm my attendance . I confirmed that I would attend and was prepared to give the donation he requested. He left two mobile phone numbers for me to contact him on these numbers are 0878293028 and 0879763122.
On the 27th June Sean Gallagher visited my business premises at Killean, County Armagh. I wrote a cheque for €5,000.00 and gave it to him personally. The cheque number is 13014. I still have the stub of the cheque , This payment is declared in my Company accounts and was cleared through my bank on the 1st July 2008.
I then attended the fundraiser which was also attended by other businessmen from South Armagh, North Louth and across the Northeast. Sean Gallagher greeted the guests on arrival and directed us to the room at the top of the Hotel where the fundraiser was held.
Brian Cowen gave a speech on the economy and predicted a soft landing. At the end of the night Sean Gallagher introduced me to Brian Cowen and facilitated a photograph to be taken of myself and him. Approximately one week later Sean Gallagher called back to my business and gave me the photograph.
It is a fact that approximately fourteen years ago I was convicted of tax evasion in relation to fuel smuggling in Northern Ireland. As a consequence to that, I have repaid the Exchequer and paid a substantial fine. I was never investigated by CAB or any other agency in the Republic.
Since that time I have developed a successful international business known as Morgan Fuels.
I employ over eighty people in Ireland ,both North and South. I have business interests in Ireland , Britan and Europe and the Morgan Fuel card can be used up to 4,000 service stations in fourteen countries across Europe.I am also the official sponsor of the Armagh County teams of the GAA.

Michael d Higgins is a cultural advocate but he is a bit over the hill. Martin mcguinness apparently the peoples champion say what ever you want about this man he was fundamentally a terrorist and I personally think it would be a diplomatic nightmare to vote this idiot in I rather see dana take it. So it comes down really to Sean and Micheal, I dont know why but I feel Sean would do more with office maybe exercise the presidential power a bit more, make the office more prominent but most likely he will just be a figure head like the rest.

Gallagher has absolutely denied collecting a cheque again on Hook.
I think this program was pre-recorded.
Gallagher has gone to ground and won't eb available to comment on Morgan's statement!

Now we won't be able to get clarification from SG as he's gone to ground, the moratorium kicks in tomorrow on tv and radio. Too late for the papers to question him.

But he showed in the debate last night that he doesn't even understand the presidential powers! Check out the piece where he was asked what way he will be voting on Thursday in the Abbeylara referendum!

I wouldn't worry too much its just a presidential office it not like the president has much influence.

I don't know what you're talking about, according to Seanie on this evening's "Right Hook" he only had a 'sporadic' relationship with Fianna Fail and had never even heard of the Armagh fuel launderer before collecting the cheque from him.

Stooodent by that do you mean that Sean could maybe bring the office into disrepute? Because I don't see how he could extend it in any other way which hasn't been done already by our 8 previous presidents who were all highly qualified and above any and all suspicion of this kind. If more allegations were to trickle into the media he would come to be regarded with suspicion and derision by both the Irish people and the world at large.

But aren't we trying to distance ourselves and move on as a nation from that kind of behaviour which sullied our image as an upstanding country?
