So was there ever a girl that you wanted desperately but you knew there was no chance. I remember a girl called kayleigh, i was 12 she was 14, had a bf, if i had of owned a guitar at the time i would have written some truly godawful songs about her.:D

I think her real name was "kay lee" or something like that.

Fish (the guy who wrote it) says he constantly has women call Kayleigh coming up to him and telling him that she was named because of that song. I'd imagine it makes a man feel old.

Back when I was a teen I was a punk, there was this 1 girl, she did ballet what more can I say? All of here friends stuck up their noses because of my baggy clothes. Secretly I think she wanted me too.
