I never see the point in having posters on every single lamp post on a road. It irritates me!
Cycling into Waterford this morning, and every signpost had Gay Mitchell's face on it, so I made a conscious decision not to vote for him!

Not just for this race but for every election, its a shocking waste of paper, money and trees!
Are we really that stupid and our memories that bad that every ten/twenty yards, that we have to be yet again reminded of the faces and names of the these people? Seriously?
I guess so, sheep as they treat us as, must have short memories!

There was a guy on the radio this morning from the Ballinrobe Tidy Towns Committee and he was saying that in advance of the general election the TT committee ran a campaign requesting that no posters be put in place inside the town boundaries. All candidates agreed and no posters went up inside the town.

They have asked the same for the Presidential campaign and so far, Seán Gallagher has confirmed in writing that he won't put up posters.

Gallagher has also stated that he is considering his policy on poster use, nationwide for his campaign as he feels that it is not environmentally sound and that in this age of technology it is not wholly needed.
