They weren't gay. It was common in the old days for comedy duo's to share a bed in sketches etc. Laurel and Hardy and Morcombe and Wise did it.

their calendar dates make perfect sense

if you've got a folder on your computer containing a folder for each date of the year, you're going to have a pain in your hole trying to find things quickly with the DD-MM format, but with the MM-DD format its very easy
