HP Touchpad Thread (NO Discussion Of Personal Buying/Selling)

Just a heads up to people.

I'm in NY for the summer and I've just ordered 2 of these for $220.
HP have discontinued the Touchpad this week and are now letting them go for $99 (16GB) and $149 (32GB).

I know most of you aren't in the USA but treat this as a heads up to get a very good tablet, with Flash Player, at a knock-down price.

I sure picked the wrong Argos when I picked Tallaght. I have to say that @argoshelpers on twitter are good people, they listen and try to help. I tweeted about my experience in Tallaght and they asked me to email them so they can look into it.

I doubt they can materialise a Touchpad for me but I appreciate the assistance they're giving.

My mate swears he picked up one of these in the new Argos in Naas.
Says it shows no stock online, but they had 4 or 5 this evening (about an hour ago to be precise)

Best case scenario even after months of development it'll still be quite a bit more difficult than installing a custom ROM on an Android phone. Considering a lot of people find even that too difficult, I think WebOS has gained a lot of new users.

Custom Radio's and ROM's are easy to install... I've done it to my phone so many times now it doesn't even bother me anymore. Half of the process is automated by sites like xda-developers with the ROM's so anyone can do it...

Seriously though, for anyone trying to keep tabs on whats going on and where the next shipments are or wheres the best place to keep an eye on, it's VERY difficult to find actual useful posts when you have to keep going to the next page because some knob has been posting pictures of them opening the touchpad box, others crying because they want a reservation code etc etc.

The posts are coming in so fast that it's difficult enough as it is without people getting sidetracked talking about what skins will fit on the TouchPad and what software can be installed on it or what apps they should install first... as I said, it's getting a little ridiculous.

In any other Bargain Alert thread, a mod would've came in and sanctioned people for derailing it but I'm sure it's near impossible to moderate this thread with the sheer volume of posts and I'd rather not report posts on everyone and get people sanctions if they can just stop at their own accord.
