HP Touchpad Thread (NO Discussion Of Personal Buying/Selling)

Just a heads up to people.

I'm in NY for the summer and I've just ordered 2 of these for $220.
HP have discontinued the Touchpad this week and are now letting them go for $99 (16GB) and $149 (32GB).

I know most of you aren't in the USA but treat this as a heads up to get a very good tablet, with Flash Player, at a knock-down price.

Some people seem to have walked in off the street and got them (the manager said they were issued on a first come first served), and I'm sure they won't complain about us with reservations. I think Argos need to review their automated system. If you cancel orders, let the customer know...and don't tell them they are in stock ready for collection!

Exactly the same for me, well apart from missing out on the pre3! Have a nice Android phone myself but she's been bitching about her phone for months so I was hoping to get her one of these. Would have been some nice brownie points! Oh well. Maybe someone here will be kind enough to sell me a spare.

No it's not! I wanted the Touchpad AND the Pre3. To that end, I made sure I could get two Touchpads if I could and as it happened, I did. I got one, informed one of my work mates about it after I put through my order and payment and he got one, so they were up for more than a few minutes anyway.

Mitch - if I cant trade for a touchpad and you dont get your hands on a palm pre 3 in the meantime, its yours for cost.

You know what guys I'm gonna be honest, I don't even want a touchpad anymore....too much trouble for what's it's worth. I have a reservation in Argos starting next Wednesday and it's not even about owning one now, it's about the principle of it and getting the RESPECT I deserve.

Do you mean you have a touchpad in your basket still and you are trying to buy it? Will that work? I thought they would just cancel it!

If it works I might buy the one in my basket as well and sell it here at cost(assuming I also get one from FNAC or Argos!)

I must have been in right behind you. My story: I rang the shop this morning, they checked my reservation no. and said they had no stock and to wait until my collection day (Saturday). Got a text 20 minutes later saying they had it, so headed into Portlaoise and there it was. Good luck to everyone else waiting for one and thanks those who provided the heads up in the first place.
