HP Touchpad Thread (NO Discussion Of Personal Buying/Selling)

Just a heads up to people.

I'm in NY for the summer and I've just ordered 2 of these for $220.
HP have discontinued the Touchpad this week and are now letting them go for $99 (16GB) and $149 (32GB).

I know most of you aren't in the USA but treat this as a heads up to get a very good tablet, with Flash Player, at a knock-down price.

Download an addon called check4change for firefox and it should do it automatically for you - you highlight which bit will change and it will notify ya when

The 5 left in stock applied to the seller @ 394.
My guess is that Amazon have confirmation of a supply of 18 due in but won't commit to a dispatch date until they are supplied to their warehouse. I'm sure at this stage that do know how to manage their supply lines.

The 18 refers to the number of different suppliers who have the product in the Amazon Marketplace, which includes them, but also includes retailers and private individuals. It's not actually an indication of stock.

At the moment, most of the different Marketplace sellers have it at the original £400+ price.

there's supposed to be a couple in stock in PC World I think... 5-6 per store I think was mentioned earlier in the thread... you might be lucky if your early enough

you may just check back over this thread to see who still has them and who's sold out

I don't think there's been any official work from dabs from what I've read here... been following it pretty carefully but that doesn't say I didn't slip up...

fingers crossed I suppose - there going to have to drop there prices at some point because well there never going to sell those 400+ of stock at that price is all... when the reduction comes who knows....

This thread really blossomed into something big didn't it!
I've got my two which will arrive this week.

Also: This may also have been mentioned, but due to the pricing of the TouchPads, these guys have begun to port Android over to the TouchPad. Looks interesting.

Accessories will be dropped by 50% when that happens and there's still no sign of touchpad stock, then I'll be concerned
