Going into Maynooth 2011?

So, sitting my Leaving Cert this year, and I have Maynooth down as my first choice on the CAO (and the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, maybe 5th), going for Arts (English and Music, hopefully). Just thought it might be an idea to post a thread for anyone hoping to get in this year, who might not know anyone going, to get to know anyone else coming in, see if you can make acquaintance beforehand. Might make starting college a bit easier, or less daunting or something! This is meant to be nothing more than a conversation thread, really, a starting point! Making it easier for the shy types, maybe. So, yeah...

For those looking for campus, I am too, but I was talking to the campus man at the open day and he said that 40% is allocated to first years and that most who apply get it.

I dunno about the rest of ye, but I suggest cans after the first jamming session.

It was such a random choice of college for me because I know nobody there..or anybody going there...but once I got it into my head it was the only place i wanted to go haha! Hopefully going to do Business & Geography..and maybe Law in 1st year...You?

. Music, Mathematical Physics and maybe astrophysics/psychology in first year.
I've only been there the once but I loved it. It was so open and modern in comparison to cramped Trinity.

Well 1st year orientation week starts the 12th of September this year, so based on last year I'd imagine you'll be allowed to to move in Sunday 11th.

Here's the important dates for 1st semester, which can also be found on the Nuim website in the Current Students tab. G'luck with the results

Sort of. You'll find that many subjects will usually have you do essays over the break, so it wouldn't really be considered a holiday. Still, if you're like myself and most everyone else, you'll have a great time with a week free of lectures, and then power through a week's worth of academia in a weekend, which will leave you feeling so drained that you'll want another week off.

Realistically, when they call it a "study week" as opposed to a "vacation", they mean it. :pac:

I've never had the time to study during Study Week. Or to relax. It's definitely always been 'Essay Week' for me.

Hey all, I'm just wondering when do Maynooth send out notice for Registration/Orientation?..I've got my course acceptance letter from CAO but havnt heard from Maynooth yet.
