Mineral Water - are they for real or a con?

Mineral water - are they for real or a con?

I ask because I genuinely don't know myself if its all a con, if some are of decent quality or is it all a capitalist plot to rob us!
(I wonder if I barrel rainwater, can I sell it?)

If anyone has any info or thoughts, I look forwards to relishing in them in my thirst for further awareness.

Its illegal to sell tap water labelled as "mineral water" but perfectly fine and dandy if its labelled as "spring water"

I wouldnt write it off as a total scam. The tap water in some areas is pretty terrible.

I studied all aspects of water treatment and supply some years ago. If I remember correctly, tap water must meet stricter regulations than normal bottled water. Anything labelled 'mineral water' is of a higher quality than normal bottled water and most tap waters.
In short, bottled water is a scam but if you must buy it, buy one labelled mineral water.

Obviously some tap waters look terrible and dont taste so nice but in terms of the likelyhood of making you sick, even the worst looking tap water is meeting higher standards than normal bottled water has to meet.

Back home in Tipp we have a filter installed. All normal tap water and bottled water tastes a lot less clear than the filtered water.

A kilometre or two down the road from us there's also a spring too. Water tastes lovely from there.

It already is a litre of oil in its processed form (petrol/diesel) costs roughly the same as half a litre of bottled water.

I'm just waiting for people to start drinking inkjet printer ink because it must be good to cost so much.

That's true, a few years back someone did an investigation and found out that it's just tap water bottled in Coca Cola, they responded by saying that they never said it was "spring water" and that's why it says "INGREDIENTS: PURE STILL WATER FROM DEEP UNDERGROUND"

Funnily enough, they're still achieving growth in the market with it.

Depends, in general the public water system has more testing than the bottles.

If you bottle tap water you can put the results of the public tests on the bottles.

Deep River Rock is what Desani is now called here. That's because Coca Cola screwed up and put bromates in the filtered tap water.

I could mention Perrier and Benzine.

Or the plasticisers in plastic bottles , Ballygowan talk about 800 years of purification but the water has a best before date.
