5th Year Biology: Photosynthesis & Respiration.

Can anybody explain.. in simple and memorable terms what the heck the Light Stage(/Light-Dependent Stage) and the Dark Stage(/Light-Independent Stage) is about!? {Photosynthesis}

I'm finding it really difficult to get my head around it.
Same goes for Glycolysis and the Krebs Cycle. {Respiration}
Apparently a question on either comes up every year: This worries me..
since I don't understand it very much.

Any help would be appreciated!!

I don't mind respiration, but photosynthesis actually makes me sick. I managed to avoid all plant biology completely in the mocks though.
