LOL. Do you LOL and not mean it??

I have noticed lately mostly on Facebook and here people saying LOL at the end of every sentence or comment.

I thought LOL meant laugh out loud but people just seem to say it anyway for no reason.

I have seen posts in Motors saying stuff like my engine went bang today LOL. How much will that cost LOL???

Are they really lolling or are they just langers???

Its part of the exaggeration thing that people do now. People LOL when they actually chuckle. When they actually laugh out loud, they type LMAO. When they get a headache they say they have a migraine. When they have a cold, they say they have the flu.

The minute somebody uses this in the wrong context, they drop a few notches in my estimation. Whether it's on Facebook, MSN, via text, email or on a forum, 'lol' abuse makes me seriously consider whether this person is actually worth communicating with. Use 'pmsl' and it's conversation over. Forever.
