All of the "new positivity" preachers are millionaires

I'm sick of the very arrogant, patronising positivity preachers that have cropped up in the media, telling us that we have a "great little country" and can "turn things around". Yes I am talking about you Des Cahill, Ryan Tubridy and others. I especially despise Peter Sutherland who presided over the great derivatives con job at Goldman Sachs, and Michael Soden, who claims he left BoI in good shape, yet tried a number of outrageous takeover bids including that of AIB, and also had to resign for other matters

Flatly was on the radio the other day, having lunch in a high class new york cafe or something...telling us we need to keep out heads up & think positive. Apparently there's a lot of negativity in this country.

Maybe he's talking about negative equity? Yeah, that must be it.

I remember Bill Cullen on frontline about a year ago saying the youth of the country are spoilt and they should basically work for nothing. No need to worry about that now Bill, most of them who have sense have already left for greener pastures.

I thought Bill Clinton's speech on St.Patricks day was extremely patronising.
A millionare telling us that smelling a flower is what's important in life. I must remember to sniff a daffodil the next time I can't afford to pay the bills because my wages and hours have been slashed. :rolleyes:

You are missing the point folks. All these people are extremely rich...as such they have moved beyond such material issues and realised that what is really important (when you are financially sound and have **** all to really worry about ) is smelling things and thinking happy thoughts.

Can't pay the heating bill? THINK yourself warm.
Can't afford to feed your family? THINK up a three course meal and a bottle of pop!
Medical bills getting you down? THINK yourself better.

No doubt we should prostrate ourselves before these new age philosophers and praise them for their remarkable input.

It's almost as bad as John Boorman complaining mid-boom that we had lost the run of ourselves entirely and lost ourselves. I think he preferred it when most of us were lowly peasants and he was part of an exclusive club. :rolleyes:
