I bawled my eyes out when Elvis died. I heard the news on Radio Luxembourg on one of these radios! Mam and dad bought it the year my brother was born..1954. By god things were built to last!!!

It doesnt work now but it has pride of place in my sitting room!

Didn't ball my eyes out when Elvis died but remember being in Galway and seeing the headline in the paper in a shop that's still there today..think Elvis was the JFK moment of the 70s ...i.e. everyone who was there remembers what they were doing when they heard...
of course, the downside was that BBC2 then screened films like this for the rest of the decade...

but of course....this is what all the fuss was about....
