Here a link o a stunning photo of an EK B777 on approach to LAX, That photographer has quite a few shots in this manner.

Notice the raked wingtips on the B777. The 747-8i will have the same feature.

@Plowman: I love that EI shot. First saw it about 4 years ago. Still looks unreal to me. When I first saw it I assumed it was photoshopped.
I have been on the road under the EI A332. Its shocking how you can be stopped at the red light, hear a strange noise,
look to your left and see a massive widebody heading straight at you!!!!
Should have taken the opportunity to go to that burger joint!

Glad i don't live in LA. I'd be about 20 stone from eating burgers from In & Out Burger on their little patio there as i watch aircraft on approach!

Has to be a helicopter. There's no tall buildings in that direction, only a car park parking lot.

Thanks for the pics, they certainly ain't the original engines! should the rear refueling drogue be deployed like that when landing?

It's not deployed as such, just trailing in the slipstream. At speed it will be straight out and when the aircraft is at rest it droops, if you know what I mean!

There's a US trade delegation here right now meeting with the NZ government.

No thankfully i'm in Wellington which wasnt affected. Busy day at the airport with lots of medical and airforce flights and heavy traffic that was diverted here.

It's a fantastic picture (though I don't particularly like the way it's cropped) but I'm assuming it's a promo shot so does it really deserve our time and praise?
