im not religous in the slightest. but it always amuses me when the militant athiests come out and try to force their opinions down peoples neck even though they give out about the churches doing the same. its always "the "theres no evidence that theres a god" argument too even though they overlook the fact that theres no proof that theres not either. i think that makes me agnostic does it?

How do you know the majority are like that? Usually it's just Richard Dawkins - one man - used as the "proof" that the majority of atheists are arrogant. How do you know the majority just don't believe in god, don't say much about it, don't give religious people grief, and get on with their lives? Sure, there are pain in the arse groups - morto at the one on Facebook at the moment called Atheist and Proud! (like something a 13-year-old would say) but the existence of those groups, while they might shout loudly, doesn't necessarily mean the majority are like them.

Non stop pointing out how arrogant/wannabe trendy atheists are (in order to show how right-on one is) is as tiresome and intolerant as atheists banging on about how religious people are stupid.

Also, I do think it's sometimes the atheism alone that's deemed arrogance in and of itself. I personally think the notion of god is a ludicrous one - technically that is dismissal of religious people by me, but I can't help how I feel. I'm certainly not going to forcibly change my view. However I wouldn't give grief to anyone who is religious (and doesn't force it on others) and that's ultimately all that should matter.

It's been my experience that when one side of a debate has all of the arguments, all of the evidence, all of the logic and all of the pretty girls* on its side, it doesn't take very long for the other side to start calling them arrogant because in the absence of a good argument, a good old ad homimem attack will always do. Those who have a point to make make it and those who don't label their opponents arrogant.
