JIZZLORD Memorial Thread

As many of you may know by now, a special boardsie - JIZZLORD - passed away at the age of 23 on Thursday.

I've known Colm for a fair few years now - us both being from the same hometown, it was an inevitable encounter. The most important thing I can emphasize about him is his genuine niceness - I don't think there was a bad bone in his body. He was quiet and often shy but once you got chatting to him, he'd have you in stitches

On boards, he was a well known poster - often if only for his epic username :P I've heard that he was quite active on the boards IRC in the past and I'm sure many remember him from there.

It's a terrible tragedy to hear of people dying so young - and this really hits home when it's someone close to you. I can only extend my deepest sympathies to Colm's family, friends and anyone who has been lucky enough to cross paths with him.

RIP Colm, you will be sorely missed by all

Was totally shocked when I heard this. I knew Colm from boards and IRC and he was one of the proper old school boards heads who made being on here great. I will miss him greatly (and his superior beard)

I met Colm twice I think, and each time he was a lovely person. We talked online almost every day when I think about it... he was always a constant, always around, and like myself he loved good food and great beer.

I'll miss him, I'll miss him a lot. I still can't believe this and think it's a bad joke.

I never met the young man in RL but had interacted with him several years ago while I was modding the Sligo forum. I suppose the best accolade I can bestow on him is that I wish Boards.ie had more posters like him.

His posts were always either funny or straight to the point with a large dose of honesty and maturity thrown in.

Its shocking to see one so young taken from his family and friends.

This is sad news to hear. I didn't know Colm either. Just knew him as a great boards contributor. He was younger than me. . that is no time to go

Funny that.. I was out for a drive last night, and the name came to mind and I thought (and not for the first time)... "JIZZLORD, I'd have loved that username", and I smiled, and thought to myself - what was in his mind when he chose that username?.

Even though I don't recall ever interacting with him, I'm still a little bit shocked about this. Such a young age too.

Having never met the lad I just can't help but feel shaken up by this tragic news.

He was part of a community albeit an online community and it hurts to lose a valued member of that community.

We've had a few deaths on boards.ie, more recently there was 'Eirebhoy', and while we don't know these people in our personal, real lives - we all share our ups & downs, smiles & frown's as part of the boards.ie community and the untimely passing of one touches us all, and we're all the poorer for that passing.

The death of one so young reminds us all how fragile we really are.

Let us remember them all.
