Depends on how fast your admin staff are at copying down stuff and filling envelopes. Ours releases them at around 10, but its up to each school.

Here's some advice, don't just take the first college course you think might suit you. If you are unsure, take a year to work internships and so-on, a wasted year and fees is a pain in the hole, and you are no better educated about what you may want to do than before.

Ahh I remember the day I got my leaving cert results!
its was up in the Curragh Camp as an extra from Braveheart
I was dressed in a Kilt with wet mosspeat and sunblock rubbed into my skin
and there was a massive queue of people waiting to use the Payphone to
ring home to see how they got on.

I dont remember what I got, it was wither 370 0r 375 points. I remember being just 5 points short for getting into UL doing Computers and no way was I spending another year repeating the Leaving. I ended up going to Moylish
(Now called LRTC) and got sick to death of programming Cobol on an green screen IBM AS-400 and Turbo Pascal and ended up Dropping out of College
never to return again! (Later did a HND in electronics at night and learned nothing)

Back in Limerick at the time if you wanted to do Computer Studies as a subject it meant you had to drop French/German. and also the points you got from passing your leaving cert Computers were only counted as Points in colleges in Limerick. At the time no other colleges recognized the subjects as entry points.

If I could go back and do it all over again, I'd of probably have looked
to do some arty-farty course and end up doing Movie Set design, but
too settled now and comfortable getting a steady wage to pay for the ol
home loan the the bills

while every one is caught up in the leaving cert buzz this was posted by one of the Admin's in A.H some poster thought its the end of the world cause he/she did not get the points they was after

First off, it's NOT the end of the world
Secondly, take some time to get over this. You got 320 points, not 0 points. You didn't fail, you simply didn't get as many points as you wanted/needed

Had I got the points I wanted from my LC I'd never have gone to NUIM and had that not happened I'd have never met my wife, nor would I have my beautiful daughter. I also probably wouldn't have done a PhD nor be Director of my own department at work

So not getting what you wanted initially does not mean life stops. It may mean that you end up being very happy in life!

For now, step back a bit and relax. Then take time to realistically examine the reasons why you didn't do as well as you wanted to. Was it that you didn't study the right material? Was it that you didn't read some of the questions properly and answered them incorrectly? There could be any number of reasons. You don't need to account for them here but have a think yourself about it

Trust me when I say that repeating a year is no big deal. I had to repeat my first year in NUIM, having failed miserably the first time around I know it's devastating now but in years to come it may not matter one bit to you.
