okay so i havent played cod in around 2 weeks, however last night and the night before i was playing and in almost every game i played someone was using a silenced ump

when did everyone start using these???

I'm telling ya man try the rafica, think FAMAS mixed with UMP and thats it!
Less range than a famas but as much power as the upm and is you have a smg as your main you move about just as fast. Less of the screen taken up when ADS and zero recoil also.

Yeah I'm the same as that. Once I get killed by too many noobtubes, I switch to my Danger-Close class with a grenade launcher and an RPG. If these people want to bring noobtubes to the party, they'd better be willing to take the occasional RPG down their throat.

They should make a gun in Black ops that has brutal accuracy, no range, no iron sights, can't use a noob tube but only let real l33t people use it to show they're so unnoobish they don't even use functional guns.

That would settle the "only noobs use that" argument.

Not quite true imho. He's moaning about a gun because he gets killed with it (a lot??). You can argue the toss about whether he's killed because of the gun, his play standard, or just because of how MW2 works.

Anyways, a 1v1 doesn't really determine who's the "better" player imho.

No I'm 12 & 1/2. Who said I can't use it? It's the easiest gun in the game to use! Sure IW should have put a sniper scope attachment on it as it's better than half the snipers in the game :rolleyes:

what guns are "hard to use"? every gun I've equipped works like this, i see a guy, I move the stick to point at him, push the trigger, little hot bits of metal fly at him, he be dead.

Are there guns that need Street Fighter style button commands? are those the "hard guns"? down, down-right,right L1 to shoot, that kind of thing?

The ump does have a sniper attachment, acog scope :pac:

I'm sorry, but the hypocrisy and arguably stupidity shown from certain posters in certain posts smacks of why I despise the COD community. I don't need to explain who and what posts in particular I'm on about but all I'll say is.. think about it as it's fairly obvious.

Anyway, back on topic.

I'm personally not great with the UMP, I'm alright just not great. Just never been comfortable unless there was a RDS or Holographic sight put on it. It's great gun but over powered IMHO. Personally prefer the Vector despite being weaker and having a tiny clip. I can snipe comfortably with it if need be.

Seems everyone is either sniping or using an UMP and at this stage it's tedious(I got called a noob for using a F2000 and Uzi(!!!) vs a clan of UMP users about an hour ago.one of the most bizarre comments I've ever heard in COD

Or on wasteland, Domination, god help you if you spawn at A, no point going for it straight away, same as C on rundown.

I do find a lot of people using silenced UMP's. However, I think the majority of people that do use them combined with Stopping Power only use it because they are aware that the silencer takes off sfa of the gun's power.

As for the UMP, i tried using it a few times, don't like it tbh, never really got into any of the SMG's tbh. Its not really that overpowered anyway, yeah at close range its quite beastly, not as good as a spas but better than any AR, at medium ranges its alrite, better than a shotgun but not as good as most of the AR. Seems balanced enough to me.

I really hate people that constantly whine about the imbalances of mw2 (There are alot, but everyone has the choice to use the better guns, and there are alot of good guns to choose from).

Rarely use the UMP at all, not because it's a n00b gun or whatever, but because it feels too light and I'm better with other guns than it.
