I bought a pair of womens Capri running pants in Lidl about 18 months ago and they are pretty good. Nice fabric that doesn't hold sweat and a good shape.

I found the shorts fine and very good value BUT the little pouch pocket gave way and I lost my car key through the hole. That's gonna cost me about €300 to replace which makes them the most expensive pair of shorts ever :mad:

I have a few pairs of the lycra ones - no issues - have been washed a dozen or so times each and still look/feel fine - find the sizings are generous though - so if you are a Large try a Med.

re cold compress - all of that sort of thing are fine they only last so long anyhow so i can see the lidl one been any diff. tbh

That happen me too with their shorts. Realised it after 8 miles in the Curragh and it was getting dark. No chance of finding it.

I'll pick up a few tops though, the velcro from my water belt has my other tops in bits.

Thanks for the heads-up. I find the tops, shorts and socks to be fine, every bit as good as basic well-known branded gear, at half the price. I've only purchased Aldi/Lidl or Decathlon own-brand gear for the last few years. However, I haven't tried their running shoes or technical gear (watches, HRM etc).

+1 on the Decathlon running gear, most of my running clothes are Kalinji (thats their brand), just as good as any other brand and half the price.

thanks a mill for this I also need some socks... re Decathlon, do they have a shop in Ireland?? (sorry don't mean to hijack) have been wearing their socks forever, really like them (less so a top but mr sf loves his t-shirt).

Nike already do lyrca running suits which go from neck to ankles for Moslem women athletes. Saw an athlete wearing one at the last Olympics. Might have been specially made for her.

Was going to start a thread about the Lidl running gear next week but of course someone's beaten me to it

I've just started running-literally this week and I was wondering about getting some of the running gear in Lidl on Monday so good to see it getting thumbs up.
Does anyone know what the ladies jackets are like? They're very tempting at €11!

Reminder: Running gear from this morning, in LIDL.

I called into a branch on the way to work and picked up some socks, a cold compress, and a running top. The socks don't look as good as some of the versions I've bought before, but will give them a go before I make a judgement. Sizes are something like: 2 - 5.5, 6 - 8, 9 - 11.

I bought a couple of tops, a pair of shorts and the armband pocket.

A bit disappointed about the arm pocket. Although there are two compartments in it for keys and phone etc, there is only a fold over flap covering them. I though a bit of velco to keep it fixed down would have been handy. I'll try it out tonight, but I'll probably keep checking it every 5 mins, paranoid that something fell out of it.

Agree re the socks Krusty....

Got myself the black/pink jacket too.

Size med. VERY thin on the ground and it looked as if they hadn't sold much (still very neat), just that they hadn't got many delivered....

I was there twice (LIDL Nangor road) and they had billions (slight exaggeration). I'd say they'll be selling them for weeks.

are the back/ankle/knee braces/support stuff in Lidl reliable ?

Also would you recommend using these pieces of kit for someone who is about to start "jogging" ( 20 - 30 minutes every other day )

i.e. wearing them in order to prevent wear and tear as opposed to support for an existing injury ( i'm 35 btw )

is there any risk associated in wearing them ?
