What I think the original poster is trying to ask is, if anybody has experienced spur of the moment sex, and with someone we may not have known before. And as Wibbs rightly pointed out, Ireland and England is rife with it.

Donfers seems to think that Irish women don't get up to this kind of thing. I suppose all the Irish men are having these one night stands with each other then?

And another thing, I've a pain in the hole with the double standards attitude towards sex. Some women want to have sex for the sex, and may not nessesarily want anything more out of it. We're not all desperate to pin down the next thing with a dick.

I'm not worked up about anything, but I've seen a couple of threads now hovering around the area of sex and double standards. I have to admit, in this day and age some of the views expressed are mind boggling.

You can correct me if I'm wrong here OP, but I'd hazard a guess you started this thread as a bit of a laugh. No harm really in that, bit of fun and craic goes a long way.

I think what this thread could lead to, is an open and honest (not too open though) discussion about attitudes towards casual sex and the modern man.

Having lived abroad and travelled quite a bit, I have to say that I think the sterotypical view of the Europeans etc being loads more liberal etc is a bit misplaced. As you all know, I'm a happily married monkey, but before that, in Ireland, there was plenty of casual, no strings sex to be had. Mostly depends on two things in my experience
1) Your standards (lower = more random sex) and 2) If its your type of thing on the night/week/ever

I've had one nighters, one weekenders etc, and while not particularly proud i'm not ashamed either. They were what they were, 2 adults having sex. Plain and simple. No commitments wanted or needed (mostly). I think while there is much much less of a hangup around sex and sexuality these days, social stigma is still out there regarding sex. Newsflash people, sex is good, fun, and we are all effing doing it

I´d a very funny discussion with one of my student´s today in an English class. This guy is from Mexico but spent most of his life in Spain. He spent a few weeks in Naas, Co. Kildare. After a discussion on emigration, we got onto talking about the differences between the quality of life in Ireland and in Span and I´ve no idea how it lead on to this but I´m sure if my boss was present, I would´ve been fired. He told me in his intermediate English that "it´s very easy to get kisses from strange girls in Ireland....I had 6 kisses in 3 weeks! (bless him) That would never happen here (Madrid)", which can be translated to "It´s very easy to pull a random bird in Ireland but not so easy in Spain". To be honest, I think he was more disgusted than pleased. We (Brits and Irish) have a reputation of being easy round these parts and from what I´ve observed so far, it´s justified.

I think that double standereds atitude oh shes a slut shes sleeping with a load of other blokes is simple Bitter jelousy at the end of the day. They lack the ability to attract a woman..

as I was told bye a poster on the forum froma female perspective and male perspective.
