Anywhere I can get the England football jersey in Cork?

Preferably the away and I wouldn't mind getting a name and number either. Anyone spotted it in any sports shops or are they still all only doing every jersey but the England one?

I would presume so as most Irish folk wouldn't wear one in a fit and the amount of English folk looking to buy one in Cork would be tiny. I would think any of the sport shops would order one for you no probs though if you gave them a deposit.

For the name and number i would suggest buying online. While a sport shop may be able to print, they may not have the correct/official numbering an font.

I had one for the last WC. Wore it the other day in the city and got no hassle at all. Course I'd avoid going around dodgier areas on my own. It's not like I'm an imperialist. I'm just a football fan who wants to support his team.

Really annoys me when people give out about wearing England Shirts. Get over it, the football team has nothing to do with the penal laws ffs:D

I'm gonna be cheering when england score in the world cup (if they score!!). I love in London and England has afforded me more opportunities work wise and socially then cork could, thats why i left. Why shouldn't we show support for out neighbours!

It's funny how you "can't" wear an English Jersey, yet every 2nd Joe will wear an english club jersey and get so involved in supporting the club to the point of being in tears when they loose!

Still wouldn't wear an English one meself though :P

During the last world cup, I saw a boy wearing an England football jersey going into Parc ni Caoimh with Beckham written on the back. Personally I cannot abide that anti-english anti-brit aspect of some Cork people. It is time to move on and get over the past.

I'd only arrived in Cork a few weeks in the summer of '05 and was in the comedy club in Coburg St one Saturday night. The comedian on stage mentioned something about England, the English or the England football team and a large part of what was a big crowd, hissed and booed for a good thirty seconds, which seemed a whole lot longer. I'm not English, but this shocked me & its an experience I'l likely never forget.

Coburg St. is one of those city centre locations where I would not advise wearing the England shirt.

The only time I have had abuse wearing an England shirt was a few years back when I went into a bar that I had been drinking in regularly. There was an Irish match on in the afternoon & England where on in the evening. As soon as I walked in the bar one guy came up to me harrassing me about my shirt. I don't think he was going to get violent but he was definitely aggressive over the fact. In that situation it doesnt come across like light-hearted banter.

I've seen quite a few people walking around town in England jerseys and never seen them get any hassle but once alcohol becomes involved it could be a different story.

I wouldn't wear a jersey from any other nationality but it is something that seems to be a regular occurrence here. I have seen loads of people walking around in France/ Argentina jerseys.

I agree. I wouldn't give my English mates stick for wearing an England jersey obviously, but I would torture my Irish mates. An Irish person wearing an English jersey just screams "attention seeker." "OOH look at me and how I'm so above this Irish English rivarly thing." Pathetic..

The only foreign jersey I'd wear is Italy. For two reasons. 1) They always look cool. 2) My grandfather's italian.

I won't be supporting England in the world cup. Not becuase of the 800 years sh1t, simply because I don't like them. Their players are sex addicted chavs. No class.
