Jungle woman flees to forest!

Rochom P’ngieng disappeared into the jungles of Cambodia in 1989 when she was a child and came back to society in 2007. A man claiming to be her father, Sal Lou, took her as family. She can now speak a few words and can clothe herself.
On Thursday, P´ngieng stripped off all her cloths and disappeared back into the forest. A Vietnamese fortune teller told Lou that a mountain spirit had stolen his daughter away and to get her back he needed to pay an ox, a pig and 4 jugs of wine.
Lou, unable to afford the high price of the fortune teller, is now asking government officials and NGOs for help finding his alleged daughter.

Chinese Workers Sickened by Chemicals Used in Making iPhones

"People should know what we do to create these products and what cost we pay," said Bai Bing from her hospital bed in eastern China. She is among dozens of Suzhou factory workers exposed to n-hexane as she puts together iPhones.
Another worker, Wu Mei (all used their nicknames for the source article), has suffered weakness, fatigue, numbness and loss of balance. She thought it was from her long hours working at Wintek. The Wintek manager has since stopped using n-hexane.
The factory manager used n-hexane, a chemical whose risks are well known in industry, because it dries faster than alcohol, but did not provide adequate ventilation. Over-exposure to the chemical can lead to paralysis.

German robbers destroy bank but fail to get cash - DOH!!!

Would-be robbers in Germany had to flee empty handed after blowing up everything in a bank except for where the money was, police said on Wednesday.
Photos in German media showed a scene of devastation in the northeastern village of Malliss, with the bank reduced to a pile of rubble and its roof completely obliterated. Amid the wreckage, only the cash machine could be seen intact.
"The explosion was so big, they had to run away without the money," said local police spokesman Niels Borgmann. "Something evidently didn't work the way the robbers wanted it to."
Cars and buildings in a radius of up to 100 meters were damaged in the night time explosion, though no one was injured.

Speaking of religious leaders who turn a blind eye to rape -- we now bring you to the tale of the Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, New Hampshire.
This story begins in 1997, when 15-year-old Tina Anderson was brutally raped by a fellow churchgoer named Ernest Willis.

However, when Anderson reported the incident to pastor -- it wasn't Willis who was punished, but Anderson, because she became pregnant by her attacker.

Anderson was forced by her pastor, Chuck Phelps, to stand in front of the congregation of Trinity Baptist Church and apologize for becoming pregnant before Phelps and her mother had her shipped off to Colorado, where she was forced to live with another pastor and give up her child for adoption.
Concord police said they were never able to formally press charges against Willis in 1997 because the victim had disappeared and neither Phelps or her mother or any fellow congregants would tell them of her whereabouts.

It wasn't until this year, thanks to a series of online posts left by friends, that Anderson, now 28, was finally found living in Arizona and her case was reopened.
As soon as Anderson came forward earlier this month, 51-year-old Willis was finally arrested on rape charges.

But despite Anderson's story of being forced into hiding by Phelps, the former pastor has denied any wrongdoing, claiming that it was the police who dropped the ball on their investigation and never once tried to contact him about Anderson's new residence.
Authorities in Concord are currently investigating Phelps' involvement, but have yet to charge him with any crime.

Apple rumored to begin paying Foxconn employees direct wages

Chinese website Zol -- which is owned by CBS Interactive -- is reporting that Apple may be moving toward a model of paying Foxconn employees direct subsidies, in the form of small percentages of the profits from whatever product line they work on. It's also interesting to note that the report claims that Apple has looked into the situation, and found that the general unhappiness of the workers and the recent spate of suicides could be attributed to low wages.

Google Dumps Microsoft Windows Company-Wide -- Blames Windows For China Hacking Attack
