Which vices in life cause the most damage to the person and society at large?

A quick list would be alcohol, tobacco, prostitution, strip clubs, gambling, hard addictive drugs, soft recreational drugs, legal highs, unhealthy fast food, porn, internet addiction.. etc.

I think the most damaging for the person themselves would be hard drugs and gambling.. For society, I think alcohol is tenfold worse than anything else on the list.
This isn't a 'which is going to kill you quicker' question by the way..

alcohol if you're talking on a mass scale. alcohol has probably somehow affected everyone in this country. even if you've never touched a drop, you might have an alcoholic relative, been attacked by a drunk, even just had to deal with hammered friends-somehow it will have affected you.

on an individual level, i think gambling has a serious effect. it can go unnoticed for so long. drugs also but it can be caught quicker and the person can be helped sooner (if they want help of course)

In terms of overall damage, alcohol. In terms of damage per unit of measurement, hard addicitve drugs (must be both- caffine isn't hard and LSD isn't addictive).

But then again, alcohol is a hard addictive drug, so....

See I didn't say that - don't put words in my mouth. I said it had influenced some people - which someone else claimed it didn't. Its a factor thats all. And yes i am serious. As was the reporter guy. Excellent program actualyl -only pity it was on late and not advertised

I'd say crack, heroin nd meth are the hard drugs.. Acid, pills, speed nd anythin else are recreational drugs imo.
