Are there any cycle parks in Meath ? or cycle tracks or somewhere safe to bring the kids cycling ?

Dalgan Park on the N3 about 3 miles on the Dublin side of Navan
Or a better option would be Balrath woods about 1.5 miles outside Kentstown.
Bots have tarmac paths all the way round but the woods would be more interesting and it also has new swings and cool chain bridges hidden round the place for the kids.

There's a big campaign starting in Dunshaughlin now against the NRA removing the cycle and walking ways which residents of the village have used for years. They are doing this as they rejig the new road and erect new roundabouts and locals are left bereft of a pedestrian or cycle connection to the village.

The NRA, as big and well-funded as it is, is not going to win this one. And Noel Dempsey, the current minister for Transport who has supported the removal of all these rights of way, is going to have to climbdown.

I think there's a meeting on somewhere in Dunshaughlin at the end of April. Watch this space.

Went to both Balrath Woods and Dalgan Park this morning with the kids. Balrath was better for cycling but both are good locations.

Kilcock via Ferrans Lock to Enfield,Moyvalley, the Dry Docks and on to the Hill of Down. Mixture of Grass, Gravel and road. Reasonably safe on all phases except from Enfield to Fureys as it is on farmland type trail and a narrow tree lined bit with roots protruding. All other bits are ok

I have been cycling on various parts of the M3 for the last 18 months or so, taking photos at various times as the work progressed...but only on Sundays of course! I have posted numerous photos on the M3 thread on the Infrastructure forum on Boards.
At present, you'd have a clear run from various parts, including the section I would be most familiar with, which is from Dunboyne right through to the Johnstown exit (that's about a 30KM stretch).
