Dullard places in the world

I had the unfortunate experience of having to spend a few days in Singapore on a stopover once. A very clean city but devoid of any human spirit. Granted our cities and towns are infrastructurally shyte but there is a light hearted charm about them which is probably attributed to the gobshytes that populate them. Brisbane was another place that appeared functional but where I thought people were just watching the life clock tick by. Any other places in the world people have found to be functionally dull?

I was in Delaware once, it's not that bad. Worst place I've ever been is Timaru, New Zealand.

Love brisbane!! you obviously didn't go to the right places or were you there on a tuesday night (only dull night)?

Singapore is very clean but i would not call it boring .There is lots of great eye candy (beautiful women ) for a start .Also great eating at a reasonable price .
Pity that drink and Hotel prices are so over the top though .

The most miserable place in the world i ever experienced was Warrenstown ,Drumree ,Co Meath ,Ireland ( dont ask why ).

No, i also thought Brisbane was pretty dull, spent a few weeks there, had planned to spend more time there but the place was starting to zap my energy. Saying that though, I did think the whole area down by the lagoon was quite impressive, but just on a warm afternoon, lazing about. Had friends who loved the place though, so suppose its just what appeals to you.

Have you actually been there though? I spent a Summer in Rehobeth Beach and liked it. At least it's got coastline so it's not like there's nothing to do at all.

You are prob right it is personal opinion!! i loved the place!! the atmosphere was cool the pubs where great weekend where brilliant i did hat fortitude valley though!! each to their own... got to love love and rockets though

I once spent a two hellish days in a place called Franz Josef in New Zealand South Island.

I honestly wanted to die long before my scheduled coach arrived to get me out of there. For instance this was the only internet access in the village. Yes that is a bus in someones front garden.

That's what I went through there for (can't remember why I chose two days tho). Worse of all when I got there my trip to the glacier was cancelled due to storms, it rained non-stop for 48hours and that bus there was even closed for business.

still if you are going to encourage tourists to go there it should have a bit more to offer- youre not gonna be out on the glacier 24/7

my experience there was the same: bored ****less after looking at the glacier. I too served time on the bus mentioned above.

I think the hotels/ hostels and bus companies have some arrangement going on so theres **** all buses leaving each day and you kind of are forced to stay at least a night or two- all you need is half a day or less.

That's why you don't rely on buses to get you around the south island - or even the north island - you drive. You can hardly expect buses departing at all hours from places with a population of 10 people and 20 sheep.
