I might be old fashioned saying that but I don't have a massive problem with it. Just think it's very feminine.

Men have worn make-up for centuries, beginning with the Egyptians and though it has been sometimes unfashionable & "not the norm", it still continues to today. I wear foundation - not a heavy one, so it's not even noticable, but it does cover up any redness in the skin & gives my skin a more toned appearance. I'm not gay, but I'm comfortable enough with my sexuality as to not give a toss what people think about how I dress or what I do to 'preen' myself. I also have manicures.. I like to look after myself & I look good because of it. I understand the 'macho' reaction however to male make up - it reminds me of a story that David Bowie told about how his Spiders from Mars tour, where he started wearing feminine / androgynous make-up & costumes. The band he played with were, in his words, "hard, northern types - brickies with guitars", so trying to persuade them to 'glam up', wasn't easy, until they realised that he was the one getting all the attention from the female fans & groupies. After that, it wasn't hard to get them to put on a bit of slap. You can call male make up gay, or even say that wearing pink is just for girls, but what are you really saying.. that you are a real man, or just a prude?
