Camping vs. Running around

due to my lack of experience playin the game i find i do better by lying low in some bushes, behind an object or whatever and just shooting the people that run around but every now and again i get a message sent to me callin me a camper fag or somethin like that or i get insulted by someone wearing a headset.
when i try to run around i get killed most times when i run into someone.
What is your way of playin the game?

Well when ur running around dont sprint as you cant use your weapons...or just sprint over short distances..if you sprint everywhere you'll be killed easily

Camping is pathetic. I generally leave a game if I find more than one camper on the opposite team, and will leave immediately if I see my own team members doing it. I'll also insta-quit a game if I find more than two snipers on either team, or a bunch of my own team hiding in the same spot.

Shite tactics at best. Campers/ "snipers" contribute s.f.a to the team in 99/100 cases and are extremely boring to play against. There are some very, very good snipers in COD but I'd say it's close to 0.01% of those who you find sniping, the rest are absolutely awful.

If you camp then you deserve whatever happens you imo.

Personally I like running around a good bit, sneaking up on fags hiding at the windows in highrise and the like, stop at spots to pick off a few and move on. Don't like being stationary too much, if I wanted to sit in bushes and watch time pass me by I could go outside the house and do it for free, rather than burning €50 for it.

Also play the game anyway you want.As for camping its is frowned upon as its a cheap way of getting a kill.Others say its a game technique so it shouldnt matter

If your new to the game camping is acceptable, however when u see guys doing it constantly it shows how limited their abilities are.

The game is so much better when u uproot yourself from the bush you are hiding in. Use your radar all the time - i cant stress this enough , it tells you where your enemies are basically. If you want to be good at the game you have to be able to hunt down your enemies rather than wait for them .

If you find yourself being killed a lot when you run about use a weapon with a silencer as these dont give away your position. You might also want to use Cold Blooded as well if this doesnt help.

I find a silencer with stopping power & a heartbeat sensor the best combo. It allows me to roam about the map picking off the enemy quite easily. Be wary of when the opposing team has a Uav though as you will still show up on the map.

If you want to keep a good kill death ratio stick to the camping but your not getting the best possible enjoyment from the game or testing yourself .
Practice running about and after a good few hours of practice you'll be getting more kills than you ever did while lying underneath that bush

im not a camper but EVERYONE camps even a tiny bit...i keep moving and try be as undetectable as i can like.

sniping - i am in 1 spot more than when not sniping, well like isnt that the aim of sniping?...its still not camping though cos i allways move and lately i do sprint round with my intervention quickish scoping anyone i see:P

I've sniped with my intervention on a few maps, didn't need to camp, had my thermal on, killed 5 people, then usually get my missile, harrier, AC130 combo and get 30+ kills... how is that nothing towards a team...?

Oh and god it's easy pickings out there right now with all the new people, only a few matches out of about 20 I didn't get my AC130 and that was trying out the P90 for the first time too, one or two matches with my scar-h too.

If you paid money for the game , play it what ever way you like .

If someone calls you a camper it because you are getting to them , don't worry about it , they didn't pay anymore money than you .

Having said that , camping for the sake of easy kills will be frowned upon by almost everyone .. still you paid for it so who am I to tell you to run about .
Camping to defend the flag or defend the bomb spot is all part of team play , if they whinge at you , so what . We play at night , maybe four of us together and at the start of each map do a quick " I'll go capture you defend " . You get loads running around getting loads of kills and their team don't win , you think these guys care if you ask them to be a team player ? their answer is " look at me , look at me , I'm getting loads of kills " ............so what , they paid for it as well .

Camping is only really a problem in the TDM/mTDM/hardcore TDM formats and I think most camper-fag haters are referring to these games when they speak of them. Defending spots in domination, defending the bomb etc is all part of the strategy in other games, hiding in a bush until someone runs by and then shooting them in TDM is just pathetic.

New players are fine to camp I guess but you'll learn more running about and getting to know the weapons and their capabilities than sitting there with your favourite gun waiting for people to pass by.

If there was an option to vote to kick players I'd bet there'd be somewhat of a decline in camping anyway, rise in headsets + "teamplay" would lead to campers getting the boot an awful lot quicker than in previous PC-based games.

Running around is a lot more fun and for me, more successful! Even with a sniper rifle, i tend to be running around a fair bit and stopping for a kill or a bottleneck. It's much more fun for me

I play defencifly because most of the time i'm on a 2 bar connection and will lose 7/10 gun fights 1 on 1.

my favorite game is search and destroy and even last nite someone had a pop at me cos i shot them when they tried to defuse the bomb, maybe they want me to run to the oppisite side of the map ffs
i tried a bit harder to play the game hunting people down and i did pretty good last nite, well i am at level 50 now so i suppose i can leave the bushes for a while

Why cant people stop b1tching about others just because they dont play the game exactly how you want them to. I normally run around a lot when playing but i'll also use cover or 'camp' when sniping. Even the other day i was abused for using marathon and lightweight because i was running too fast and accused of glitching.

Play the game however you want because thats what it is, its just a game. I genuinely feel sorry for people who are sad enough to get so worked up over a game. They really need to take a good look at themselves and just get a fukin grip.

I always find it funny people try calling this game a war fighting simulator, then give out **** about camping. That s how real gun battles play out. Imagine seeing 50 headless chickens running around in a real battle looking for the enemie in a war hot spot heh. But play the game whatever way you want. Personally I think people that don't like campers should play Halo. That's a game aimed at frantic running around and shooting on sight.

You cant say you do it because your new to the game and you keep getting killed, you'll learn to not get killed, sitting in the same spot and pissing people off for 10 mins is retarded.

The only time I camp, when i see someone running towards me on the radar, duck behind a bin, let him run by, kill him and run away.... dude comes back for revenge, and your not in the same spot :O then he's really pissed

The camping thing that pisses me off is when they respawn and keep KEEP going back to the same spot that they know, over and over...... like the guys who hide in the L-shaped plane in Scrapyard... grrrr

I find sometimes that campers who kill me dont last as campers much longer :pac:.
When one kills you or in my case me I'll just see where they are in the kill cam (thats if I'm familiar with the map) and then just use my common sense to find them and kill them.
The only time in which I would camp is when I am a sniper and after a kill or two i'ed move to another place but even at that most of the time I'ed use my secondary weapon the M1040 other wise known as the M4 Super 90 when up close.
Unlike Rb I wouldn't leave the game if I see more then one person on the other team camping or even if anybody on mine was.
Thats just letting it get to you imo.
