No that was ITV themselves TV3 had the rights to show the programs here I think.

Things have now changed as they do.

I'd leave "confirmed" out until its officially announced by Chorus NTL.

As you may recall until ITV and NTL fell out, viewers of the old NTL Ireland had ITV3 and Men and Motors. Hopefully the latter would also return if a deal is reached.

UPC sent out texts today and they confirmed it over the phone all the call center staff have been told.

I think it's safe to say it's confirmed.

I think TV3 still have the rights to most ITV1 and ITV2 shows. ITV3 on the other hand don't show many spin off shows from ITV1 or many that TV3 would be interested in.

ITV 3 appeared when Granada Plus suddenly closed - there was an issue with EPG space and SKY - and NTL continued to carry the service, then TV3 started hinting at proceedings (cannot confirm how far this went in the courts) and it was pulled - SKY up until very recently carried a disclaimer about reception of UTV on their service.

Which possible happened when Granada and Carlton merged to form ITV Plc, I don't really see why an ITV part owned company would try to sue ITV. This seems very unlikely. More likely that TV3 and ITV had an arrangement that as much as possible ITV channels would not be made to easily available to Irish viewers.

From memory Granada had pulled out of TV3 at this stage.

As an aside UTV is one of the only independent ITV channels....

so we're getting the rest of the ITV's & possibly good food. does anyone know if any more HD channels are being added or any decent channels for that matter.smile is just a complete waste.
