Sean Hughes heckler

Was at Sean Hughes gig in Dublin and this crazy bloke sitting near me in the audience started to heckle him. Did anyone see or hear of this? has it been reported anywhere?

Sean was giving out about Stephen Fry doing Twinings ads when this smarty pance guy, who I'm certain I saw in The George before with a friend of mine, started calling Sean a hypocrite about being on Corrie and that. He told Sean he was a sell out???

anyways, this fella, who has a Dub accent, went on and told Sean, in the middle of his gig, that he rips his jokes off other comedians. Sean told him to f@@k off and they kept shouting things back at each other. was a total ruiners actually - bloody Queen hecklers...:eek:

You are correct in your assumption, I too sat through classes with him. And his accent is fcuked up, he is from Firhouse in Dublin:rolleyes:

I liked his books, but saw him for the first time in years last year and I was so disappointed. He kept going on about not having a girlfriend and being old. Hack I was there too. First time seeing Mr Hughes live, and the Heckler did kinda ruin the night tbh.
The warm up act was excellent (Jarlath Regan sp?) and the first 45 mins of SH was very good, but then his material stopped being relevant, and tbh I thought "Jesus, you are actually too old to be doing this!" .

As for the heckler, the first couple of times SH was able to counter it, but when it continued the audience seemed bored waiting for SH to go to town on him, but it never happened.

I know that at one of his gigs in England that only about 10 people showed up and he brought them all to the bar and did the show there after buying them free drink!
