Chelsea have been rocked by the news that Ashley Cole has sustained a depressed fracture of the tibia. The full-back was ruled out of the England squad for next weekend's friendly with Brazil because of the injury. Cole missed three games after initially sustaining the injury in the Blues' 4-0 home win against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last month. The former Arsenal man returned against Atletico last week, but he aggravated the injury in Spain. Cole played through the pain barrier requiring a painkilling injection in order to feature in Sunday's 1-0 win over Manchester United It is feared the 28-year-old could face a lengthy spell on the sidelines with the problem. A spokesman for Chelsea confirmed: "Ashley Cole has not been selected in the England squad for their friendly against Brazil. "He has a depressed fracture of the tibia, an injury first picked up in the Atletico Madrid home match last month. "He aggravated the injury before the match against Manchester United and required an injection to play. "However, he further injured it during the game and has therefore been ruled out of this week's England squad."

I bought him at 7.0mill and he is now worth 7.3mill so currently I can sell for 7.1mill - if he drops 0.1mill over the next two weeks I can still sell him at the same price - 7.1mill. You could look at brining in some players who have a double gameweek next from Fulham, Blackburn, Everton and Hull. Will any of those get any cleansheets though is the question???

The Premier League leaders do not anticipate the 28-year-old being ruled out for a long period of time and would expect him to return to training in around two weeks, potentially ruling him out of the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on November 21 and the Champions League tie in Porto four days later. Whether Cole would be ready to return for the eagerly awaited clash with Arsenal, a meeting of the division's current top two, at the Emirates on November 29 remains to be seen.

The Guardian are being a bit more upbeat about his progress:http://www.myfootballnews.co.uk/news_jump.html?player_id=3&story=31082 So with the international break, it looks like he's out for the Wolves game but could be back for Arsenal, which would put him at missing two games at max. At the moment I'm leaning towards keeping him - I'd definitely want to buy him back (which would be more expensive). It's a squad game
