Question about Katie Price and this so called rape

So Katie ''Jordon'' Price has gone out and said she was raped by some celebrity but won't say who it was, and In the Herald(I know i know:rolleyes:) today, she has actually told the camera crew of her reality show or something, who raped her but has sworn them to secrecy as well. Now my question is, is it not illegal for Katie Price to be witholding infomation concerning a crime that was committed even if it was on her and is not known to the police. I mean she might accept this, but this guy would still be classed as a sex offender in a way and it would seem she is witholding information from the Police. I'm not sure about it, but I just find it odd that Katie can accept being raped and remain silent about it but dosen't seem to be questioned about it.

BTW I realise that we should proberly take Katie's comment with a grain of salt because we don't know the real details, but I still find it weird that she can go about saying she was raped without any sort of investigation.

True - that's an admirable thing. But given her bad reputation with the public, how many people are likely to believe she's speaking out about her attack to encourage other people to promote attacks, rather than to get sympathy and attention for herself?

You can't really blame people for thinking about her in a negative way, she's all over the papers on a daily basis for everything from attacking fans to verbally abusing her husband. Her persona in the media is not a particularly likable character. Whether the media is being truthful in their claims about her is another matter entirely, but people can't be blamed for believing some of what they read ; The Media is a very powerful tool.

Also, I've already explained my comment was a joke. I have nothing against a woman who has a lot of sex, or a lot of sexual partners - In fact, I have nothing against a man in a similar position.

My problem with her is that she chooses to tell the media everything. She doesn't see the line between what should be public and what should be private.
Obviously, what she chooses to tell the media is her own business, but she must then accept that people will dislike her for her lack of discretion.

I have 2 words for you: Jade Goody. She came out saying she was getting checked for cancer when the whole racist thing was going on and it turned out the poor girl had it. Can we not just see what happens with all this before we witch-hunt her?

Were the racist allegations not over? I thought she was in the Indian Big Brother House, as a mark of moving forward and apologising to the Indian public she offended with her comments months previous, when she was told she had Cancer, for the first time.

I'm not suggesting a witch-hunt. I'm just saying I don't blame people who think Jordan is possibly lying about her claims.

But thats the thing. No matter what someone has done/said/behaved it should be no reason for people to doubt them on such a serious matter.

She went public on it. She's not an idiot. She would know quite well that she'd be caught out if she was lying. She's a business woman and lying about something like that would ruin her.

Katie 'Jordan' Price would reveal anything for money, whether its in her books, on those ridiculous tv shows that follow her around all day or have it plastered all over the newspapers, this girl is not known for her privacy or secrecy. So why is she 'protecting' this celebrity? Is she not worried that this 'celebrity' will rape someone else or strike again.

If I had suffered this ordeal and I was browsing boards tonight and read what you posted, I would feel shattered by it. I would expect another woman to empathise with what I've gone through simply because it could have just as easily been her that fell victim to it. Maybe it's the fact that this happened "before she met pete" and yet it's only coming to light now - now that she's demonized by the press and becoming the hate figure of those magazines due to her actions following her recent divorce, - that some people don't believe her claims.

It just seems to have shot back into her memory at such a coincidental time. I mean it's not like she has books to promote or revenue to reclaim after her shunning from the mags that kept her afloat, or even just to try and win people back onto her side.

Very true, people should report rape and I really hope some positives come out of this.

However Jordan did not report the alleged rape, she tried to make money off the back of it, a despicable act IMO.

Furthermore, I wonder how many Jordan wannabees will come out now and falsely claim that they have been raped just because their idol has made that accusation and they want to be just like her.

I see your point, however, I don't really think it was fair for him to play the 'woman' card.
Just because I'm a woman, doesn't mean I can't be capable of agreeing with the guys in here on a topic.

Rape is obviously a horrible ordeal for anyone to suffer. But in my opinion, it doesn't matter if the person is male or female - I can sympathise and feel a great deal of sorrow for the victim.
In my eyes, it's the same, whether it's a man or woman being attacked - it effects both sexes psychologically, emotionally, on every level possible and I don't necessarily agree that women should and will relate to female victims more, and men will relate to male victims more - just because they share the same gender.
Sometimes, it can work out that way, but not always.

If Katie Price has been raped, I do feel sorry for her. I feel sorry for any victim of any sort of attack. It's a tragic thing to happen, which cannot be justified, in any way.

But I do feel that based on her pubic persona, there will be people who will dismiss her claims. This might not be fair, but it happens - it's the nature of the media beast. Like I said, the media is a very powerful tool and it can make or break a person, it can manipulate them to increase sales and create a higher level of profit and revenue.

I also feel sorry for her if it turns out to be a false accusation, because that will be a worrying sign into the state of her mental health.

I feel sorry for anyone who's regularly in the media eye, to be honest, because the media is so too faced. They print what they want to print - one day, they're your best friend, the next, they've turned on you and your career hangs in the balance.

No because if you read back over what I said you will find that I never said that I believed what Jordan says. I have no opinion on the validity of her allegation because I simply don't know what happened.

I didn't take issue with people saying she could be lying, she could very well be using this as a publicity stunt. Or maybe not. None of us here know for certain.

What I did take issue with were the comments suggesting that because Jordan has a reputation as being a media whore, her allegations are less significant than if they were made by another woman. As in, 'well even if she was raped, she's a slapper so who cares'? That's something I have a problem with. Not people questioning how true it is.

Surrey officers contacted the 31-year-old, also known as Jordan, but have yet to receive an official complaint.

They have arranged to carry out a full interview with Price about the allegations in the near future, it is believed.

The alleged attack is said to have taken place several years ago after a party in London's West End after a series of secret dates between Price and the unnamed man.

Claims that she was raped by a "famous celebrity" surfaced in her magazine column and in a subsequent interview.

Price initially said she would "absolutely never" name the celebrity and has no plans to make an official report to police.

But it was reported that she let the alleged attacker's name slip off air during filming of her ITV2 programme What Katie Did Next.

On the TV show The Wright Stuff, the model, who recently divorced singer Peter Andre, said she would "never, absolutely never" reveal the name of her alleged attacker.

A Surrey Police spokeswoman said Price has been contacted but has not been spoken to "in depth".
She said: "No report of rape has been made to Surrey Police. Officers have spoken to her.

"Officers will be following lines of inquiry into this offence."

Now surely all that has to happen is for one of those people that overheard to go to the papers.

What is she trying to do?

Police will surely want to talk to anyone that was around her when she let the name slip.

Which means she will have to back up what she said.

If it did happen I hope she can do just that.

believe me, i understand not going to the police and can empathise with that but for her to then go and tell a camera crew..i cant get my head around it.

and surely now that shes been able to tell strangers she'd be able to report it to the police, i mean the main reason women dont go to the police is the intrusive tests and the fear of people not believing you- she wont have to go through the tests as its so long ago and obviously shes ok talking about it now since shes brought it to media attention, who she feels will believe her, so i dont understand why she didnt report it.

i'm not saying she did or didnt get raped, that will come out eventually so theres no need to discuss it but i just find it hard to understand why shes talking so openly about it now when she hadnt reported it. i think its a bit distasteful and insulting to the women who have been brave enough to report it and also to those who dont have the courage to talk about it at all. shes making a mockery of both tbh and she should be dealing with the issue in a responsible way not using it as some kind of kiss and tell stash of gold that she can use to boost her publicity.

Well if she named him, even if she thought it was safe off camera she has let the name out and cannot complain now if it hits the papers.

If it is true then people have a right to know, not his celeb fans but the people he has an everyday connection with.

If it's not true then she is in trouble, ie: what if he can prove he was somewhere else when she said it happened?

I don't think she is that silly, so I'm guessing she was out with him so therefore knows where he was and something happened that wasn't nice for her.

Who knows, only herself and whoever she is talking(or not talking ) about.

She was very adamant that he was high profile though,so I can't see it going away.

I think shes a horrible woman. Shes got a pretty face, but the problem starts when she opens her mouth. This sounds bad but I hope shes not making this up. If its a publicity stunt looking for sympathy its not working. And if its found that she did make it up she should be jailed.

rape is a terrible crime, its one of the worst things one human can do to another.

if she was raped then i have the utmost sympathy for her, however the way she is going about this is so wrong and so publicity seeking that it would make anyone have serious doubts as to the credibility of the claim

i mean come on, you mention it first to distance yourself from your boyfriends film, then you ring the show of a man known primarily for naming another celeb as a rapist to say you will never reveal his identity, then you give the name to the crew of your own reality show. While your seemingly normal enough ex husband denies he ever knew even though you say he did.

Its so bizzare its just not credible. If she really was raped which of course is possible she needs to stop this and make an official complaint to the police or stop talking about it to the media and seek the help she needs to get through this.

To be accused of rape is one of the worst things imaginable that could happen to a guy, everyone already through the internet knows who she named. It wont matter now if he is innocent people will believe it and his life will be in tatters.
