Charity prediction comp.

O'K we will be doing the 2009 prediction competition in the next couple of weeks, now this is the idea? Rockman suggested that we pay 10 euro to enter and the winner can donate the winnings to a charity of his choice, when entered you can state your chosen charity..

anyone interested let me know here, we can work out a way of paying, i would ask that 1 of the mods looks after this=:D

Bigears maybe? as he always plays the comp!

Even if your not in it to win it it would be giving money to charity so its a good cause either way...

Me missing out on getting the Khan fight completely right made me realise something. I think too many points are put on getting the correct round right.

Eg.lets say the following fights were in the comp poll last week
Arthur Abraham v Lajuan Simon
Enzo Maccarinelli v Ola Afalabi

Poster (A) picks Lajuan Simon by first round knockout and Afalabi by 9th round tko.

Poster (B) picks Arthur Abraham on points and Afalabi by 8th round tko.

Poster (A) receives 45 points for his efforts
Poster (B) receives 30 points for his efforts

Does anyone else see something wrong with that ?

make it a round 100 points !
Only a 3% or 4% chance of a draw generally speaking !

Anyway , I came to suggest a fight that will be televised (I presume) and is a 50/50 fight too.

Its open to change if enough people want it to change, the only thing i'd say though is that it stops people going for the easy option of points every time..

True but it makes the competition less accurate in judging the skill of predicting fights.

I mean in the example I gave does the poster (a) really deserve to have 50% more points from their predictions.

Perhaps seperating the rounds for a stoppage into different groups, rather than an individual pick eg 1-3, 4-6, 7-9, 10-12 or 1-4. 5-8, 9-12

In that situation, poster (b) who imo has shown more accurate predicting skills has 15 more points than (a).

I would suggest:
20 for correct fighter
10 for correct group of rounds(of of the 3, 1-4, 5-8, 9-12)
10 for guessing a stoppage
10 for points
60 for draw
