For all our difficulties, having spent the last few weeks as an Irish person having to listen to and read the hysterical, sensationalist, stupidity and paddywhackery coming from almost ALL UK media outlets about Ireland and our situation (if you saw Primetime last night you will have had a flavour)....it's hard for me not to get some element of satisfaction as to the facts emerging today about their own economy.
Well, they had their budget today and they ain't exactly in a good way either
We thought we were bad (and we are) - we were being hammered by the tory UK press in particular about being "alcholics that came across money" and "going back to the potatoe" etc etc - bet they will be a little quiter now having to borrow 12% of GDP just to keep them going. We are "only" borrowing just over 10%..........
I expect vindictive columns in all Irish papers tomorrow with some Brit whackery........revenge!
"No shame in going to the IMF" - that's right lads, no shame.
