Do you ever think of a childhood buddy?

who you've lost touch with, wondered how they're doing. Or if they've passed away think of them in your prayers?.

For me I've a few but mostly its a mate from my childhood (David Reynolds) who grew up in Balcurriss Rd (Ballymun) with me. But was knocked down and killed in his teens, but year's after he moved away from Ballymun and out to Blanch..

I thought about this yesterday when I found rubbish dumped on the street. This annoys the hell out of me, when I looked it was a guys payslip. And the name and addy was from a mate I haven't seen in about 25yrs but still listed at his parents house.

Anyway, I've often wondered how 'David Reynolds' family has gotten on since his death. And do they realise he's still thought of by old mates..

Anyone else ever thought about hooking up with childhood mates, or just even throw them a thought occassionally?.

I'm still best friends with my childhood friend... we're complete oppsites but I love her to bits. cant imagine life with out her. I'm 25 and she's 27 and we're still together ah!

I lost my best friend in a hotel fire in Bundoran when we were 6...a few years ago I went to the hotel where she died on her anniversary and put a rose at the seafront just by the hotel, I try and do it annually...recently I decided to try and find her grave and did so via boards...I spoke to her uncle last weekend and will be seeing where she is buried shortly...will never have closure (I think of her every day) but it felt really nice talking to someone who knew her so well...

I watched a programme on that fire at some stage over the last couple of years, very sad. So nice that you still think of her everyday.

Thanks, I saw that too...her mummy and daddy and 3 year old brother also died in that fire, I recently found out that her parents were only 31 when they died. RIP Deirdre, your mummy, daddy and baby brother.

I remember the story well from the programme and it deeply upset me at the time, she was lucky to have such a loyal friend for her shortened life.

That's really sad. Lord have mercy on her and her family.
