Simple lesson to be learned there so - if you cannot afford it well then don't go out. I would hate to think that my skinflint behaviour could cost someone their job. M If he takes your advice and doesn't go out at all then it's the same idea right? At least with his naggin he will pay in and potentially buy other drinks.
