Gilbert O'Sullivan - Saturday 20 June
Kasabian - Sunday 21 June
Christy Moore - Saturday 27 June
Josh Ritter - Saturday 4 July
Rod Stewart - Tuesday 7 July

Tickets for the Rod Stewart and Christy Moore shows will go on sale Monday 1 December at 09:00.

Tickets for the Gilbert O'Sullivan and Kasabian shows going on sale Tuesday 2 December at 09:00.

Tickets for The Prodigy and Josh Ritter shows will go on sale Wednesday 3 December at 09:00.

Firstly, very tempted to make the trip for the Prodigy, although probably ridiculously expensive.

If you're interested in The Prodigy I'd recommend you check out the Rockness festival on the banks of Loch Ness outside Inverness in Scotland. www.rockness.co.uk They're headlining it this year.

I myself have been the last 2 years when it was a 2 day festival however last thursday as well as announcing some headliners - basement jaxx, the prodigy, dizee rascal etc. they also proclaimed it would now become a 3 day festival wooooo hooooooo

Aer Arann fly direct from Dublin to Inverness and the last 2 years that I have been the flights worked out about 60 euro return. Also there is a Morrissons supermarket in Inverness where you can stock up realtively cheaply on supplies before getting your taxi to Dores Farm on banks of Loch Ness for one of the best festivals I have been to.

Looks nice alright although I do try avoid British festivals cos the exchange rate thing is always annoying. Plus I may be going Rock Am Ring around that time, so they'll prob be there.

Watch more Reeling in the Years if you dont know who Gilbert O'Sullivan is. I saw him in Glastonbury this year. Hes a good laugh but not 40euros worth of a good laugh.

I got tickets for Rod Stewart in Cork for my parents but just heard announcement that he's playing RDS too - now am wondering if I should get RDS tickets instead. I've never been to the Marquee so just wondering what its like and if it'd be worth the trek down for them

Make a little mid-summer trip out of it. go for a few days, take in the county, see what it has to offer, go the gig. Otherwise I don't really know what the venue is like.

and which they would advise would be the best way to head down
car, bus, rail, fly?

Any time I've gone to Cork for a gig, I've always gone by train. The train station is close enough to most accommodation and I believe it'd be close enough to the marquee site.

I wonder if anyone here would know the capacity of the Marquee in Cork for fully seated events. I googled it and the capacity was given as 4000 but I dont think it would hold that many all seated.

Heading down tomorrow. Can anyone give me directions? We're staying near the bus station in the city centre. I've been searching for about an hour but I cant seem to get any solid directions or bus routes or anything. Ticketmaster is as usual useless!

Best way is by walking, only 15mins from the bus station. With your back to the station walk to the right for a block,when you pass Jurys Inn swing a right, look for the sextant pub just accross the bridge(stopping for a pint if required

). Take a left at the pub and follow the road the whole way around to a roundabout, take the left at the roundabout and keep walking, its on the right you cant miss it.

take the number 2 bus from outside the station just tell the driver where you are going and he will leave you about 5 mins walk to the venue
