hello, i was looking for a place in ireland to visit that is not touristy (except for irish tourists) but still vibrant and was wondering if galway would be a good choice.
i'm coming there more for the people than scenery so shooting for a place where i would be hanging out among locals. thanks a lot.

I think you can say Celtophiles too.
Now, the West is where you want to go for the real Irish experience. Stay away from bigger towns and go to small places in Mayo (Westport), Donegal (Malin), Kerry (The Ring, Sneem) and of course Galway (Galway, Connemara).

Must sees:
Newgrange, Meath.
Marble Arch Caves, Fermanagh.
Conor Pass, Kerry.

that's really f***ing dumb. just because there is not much of a scene it doesn't mean there are no queers. they are all around, everywhere.
